It’s no secret that when “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt paired up with Mark Ballas in Season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars,” that they were going to be a force to be reckoned with.
But while the duo didn’t make it to the finale, and finished sixth in the competition, they’ve continued their partnership far beyond the ballroom. In fact, they’ve just posted about having a major announcement coming soon.
Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas Have a Major Announcement Coming Up
On Instagram, Leavitt and Ballas posted a video of them dancing and lip-syncing to Tame Impala’s “Dracula.” Ballas starts the song off, meets Leavitt halfway through in a director’s chair, and they finished the video together with a spin and a wink to the camera.
“big announcement pending,” said the text over the video.
“See if you can catch the hint in this video ๐๐คญ๐,” the caption reads. “CANโT WAIT FOR YOU GUYS TO FIND OUT NEXT WEEK!”
Fans Are Speculating What Their Surprise Could Be
In the comment section, fans can’t stop speculating about what their big news could be. “PLEASE SAY YOU’RE BOTH GONNA BE IN CHICAGO AT THE SAME TIME OMG,” wrote one excited fan. “DWTS crossover with Chicago!!!!?????????” echoed another. “A girl can dream right ๐.”
As a reminder, Leavitt made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” earlier this month on February 2, 2026. Her initial run ran through March 15, 2026, followed by an encore engagement from March 23 through April 5, 2026. Due to high demand, she added two weeks to her original six-week stint.
Since her debut, fans noted that Ballas has been posting a lot in New York City, so the theory that Ballas is joining the cast has been going on for a while
Other fans are speculating that their announcement might having something to do with the “Dancing With the Stars” tour, which is currently traveling all across the US. “Some sort of tour situation?!?!” a commenter asked.
Some special guest appearances on the tour this year have been Season 34 contestants Robert Irwin, Alix Earle, Jordan Chiles, Dylan Efron, and Elaine Hendrix. The tour is also hosted by former contestants Danielle Fishel and Andy Richter.
Prior to their teaser for the announcement, Leavitt and Ballas’ last big partnership was on Alex Cooper’s podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” after their shocking elimination. In addition to getting candid about their friendship, and their bumpy “DWTS” journey, they also performed their final dance, which they never got to perform at the Season 34 finale.
