We made it to the Top 8 on “MasterChef: Global Gauntlet,” with the remaining home cooks representing the four territories (Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and Americas) this season. The fight to be named the winner of “MasterChef” Season 16 continued tonight.
Last week, the home cooks had to partner up and replicate dishes from the judges in a tag-team challenge. Now, the home cooks will be partnering up again, as they will have a giant wall between them. Communication is key, as they can only talk to their partner while trying to make the same dish. In the end, one of the teams’ dreams of winning “MasterChef” will end tonight. Week 14 Begins
The Top 8 arrive in the “MasterChef” Kitchen, and we have the wall in place. They are not excited for this challenge, as it’s always chaotic. There will be another double elimination tonight, and those two individuals don’t have to be on the same team. We will provide updates as tonight’s episode airs, so keep refreshing this page for updates.
8:12 p.m. – For tonight’s challenge, they will be partnered up. They have to make two identical dishes without ever seeing their partner, as they will be on opposite sides of the wall. Communication is key tonight. Jake and Dave, for winning last week, got to pick partners. They chose not to work together again, for some reason. The pairings are Red Team (Dave & Heidi), Yellow Team (Jake & Julia), Blue Team (Tkaiya & Basia), and Pink Team (Peter & Foo). The dish they make needs to feature a protein, at least two sides, and a sauce. They have 60 minutes to create their dish that must taste and look identical. They get five minutes in the pantry to plan their dish and select their ingredients.
8:21 p.m. – The judges walk around to see how the home cooks are doing. The home cooks are definitely stressed with this challenge. They are struggling to stay in sync. Basia breaks her sauce and is now worried she won’t get everything done.
8:31 p.m. – The time runs out, and it’s chaos, as the home cooks are trying to plate their dishes the same way. Foo can’t hear and forgets his sauce.
Results on ‘MasterChef’ Season 16
8:42 p.m. – The judges have started to taste the dishes. Red Team did a great job, as the dishes looked pretty identical and the taste was there too. Yellow Team’s dishes were a little off, but the judges loved the taste of them.
8:50 p.m. – The Blue Team did not do well, and the judges were not impressed. The Pink Team is up now, with Foo missing the sauce being talked about. He then undercooked the mushrooms.
