Jain shared that she is still working through her emotions following the death of the “Grey’s Anatomy” star, who died after a battle with ALS.
Jain said she is still trying to process the loss and admitted ‘she does not yet have the words to fully describe how she feels’.
At the same time, she shared that the memories she holds of Dane remain positive.
As per Page Six, Jain and Dane dated from mid-2024 to mid-2025. Even after their breakup, the two remained on good terms.
HBOAccording to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, the former couple reconnected in the months leading up to Dane’s death and chose to rebuild their relationship as friends. “In the months leading up to Eric’s passing, Priya and Eric reconnected their relationship as friends,” a source exclusively told US Weekly, adding that “it was more important for them to remain friends” following their split last summer.
The insider also said the loss has been deeply difficult for Jain. “Priya didn’t think it would happen this quickly,” the source said, referring to Dane’s rapid health decline.
Dane publicly revealed his ALS diagnosis in April 2025 and passed away about 10 months later.

Jain has also kept Dane’s family close to her heart, especially his daughters, Billie and Georgia.
According to the insider, she continues to hold deep affection for the late actor and remains supportive of those who were closest to him.

The source shared that while Jain is still struggling with the loss, she finds comfort in knowing Dane’s daughters will carry his memory forward.
On a personal level, Jain is “so sad and devastated” by his death, the insider said, but “she’s grateful they exist to keep his memory alive.”
In the days after Dane’s passing, Jain also stepped in to support the family, donating $10,000 to help cover medical expenses.

Dane also spoke candidly about Gayheart’s support during his health battle.
“We have managed to become better friends and better parents,” he said during an appearance on “Good Morning America.” “And she is … probably my biggest champion and my most stalwart supporter. And I lean on her.”
