Jesse Williams, who stars as “Grey’s Anatomy” heartthrob Jackson Avery, has married his girlfriend Alejandra Onieva, TMZ reported on Monday, May 4. Fans are shocked to learn that the beloved star has allegedly been married for MONTHS now, without anyone the wiser.
GettyThe marriage news comes almost a decade after Williams announced his separation from his first wife, real estate broker Aryn Drake-Lee, with whom he shares two children.
Onieva is an actress and model hailing from Madrid, Spain. Her Instagram account indicates she is represented by Curtis Brown Talent, View Management, and Lucía del Río Management.
The report says Williams and the Spanish actress “quietly tied the knot.” Williams seems to have been wanting to keep the engagement under wraps, because his social media, which is largely focused on his professional projects, makes no mention of it.
The TMZ report says the outlet was told by sources that “the couple have been married for a few months now after pulling off a super low-key ceremony that flew completely under the radar.” The story goes on to say Williams and Onieva became a couple in 2025, when they met while filming the Prime action series “Hotel Costiera” in Italy.
The outlet says Williams’ reps have not yet responded to their requests for comment.
In the series, Williams plays a former marine who is sent on a quest to find the missing daughter of his hotel owner boss. Onieva plays a supporting character in the series named Sheryl.

Back in September 2025, Williams and Onieva were spotted at the “Hotel Costiera” premiere walking hand-in-hand. Celebrity news outlet Just Jared referred to the 33-year-old actress as “his new girlfriend.”
The outlet had previously published photos of the pair in Madrid with the caption, “Jesse Williams appears to have a new love in his life.”

In a “Today” interview promoting the series, on which he is an executive producer as well as a star, Williams talked about how he got involved and described his character. He recalled, “They came to me. There was this kind of rough script written in Italian translated to English. They had this concept of this kind of rudderless guy, who was of two worlds. He was born in Italy, raised in America, half-black, half-white. He’s military, but grew up as like a street thief.”
Williams called his character “perfect in many ways,” but “really emotionally underdeveloped,” which presented an appealing role. The 44-year-old joked, “Shooting on the Amalfi Coast for four-and-a-half months wasn’t so bad either.”
