‘A Christmas Angel Match’ Was Filmed in Ontario, Canada
“A Christmas Angel Match” was filmed in the Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, region. It was originally called “Touched by a Christmas Angel” and then “Christmas Angel Effect” during filming. Ayres posted a behind-the-scenes video while they were filming in May.
According to ACTRA Ottawa, this movie was filmed from May 12 to May 30. At least one scene was filmed in Merrickville, based on Facebook posts. And according to a casting call, a scene was also filmed in Cedar Hill, Ontario.
This most likely referred to the Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm, which was one of the beautiful filming locations for the movie. According to their website, other Hallmark movies have been filmed here too, including “Christmas Scavenger Hunt,” “Christmas Festival of Ice,” “Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia’s Reunion,” “A Cheerful Christmas,” and more.
The farm is located in Parkenham, Ontario, Canada and is open for visits.

In an interview with People, Ory talked about how they worked with adorable Husky puppies while filming.
“They were like 12 weeks old, and they were really little,” she said. “They were so cute! And one of the people on the crew in catering bought one of them, so we even matched a puppy with a home.”
Ory told people that she wrote the script for the movie, and was inspired by her family’s stories about guardian angels and her love of matchmaking. But at first, she used her mother’s name as her script credit and tried to keep her involvement a bit more hidden.
“I feel shy about it for some reason,” she said.
Christie Will Wolf directed the movie. She wrote in a post on Instagram in late May that they were coming to an end of filming. “This is the third time I’ve had the gift of collaborating with @officialmeghanory — as lead actress, and as my producing partner. We speak in shorthand, consistently have the same thought, and spin ideas like records — nonstop and always in rhythm. Making movies is hard – we’re both moms and being away from our kids isn’t easy. But making Christmas (and doing it fantastically!) well, it’s simply fun,” she wrote.

Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “Monica (Ory) and Michael (Ayres) are Christmas Angels tasked with bringing destined soulmates together during the most magical season of all. Typically, Angels work alone, but when the Christmas Connection Department faces the threat of downsizing, Monica and Michael are unexpectedly paired to ensure Daisy and Patrick fall in love before Christmas. The partnership isn’t without its challenges: Monica is a by-the-book traditionalist who follows every heavenly rule, while Michael embraces spontaneity and delights in earthly joys like hot chocolate, snowball fights, and holiday dancing. Their clashing styles – and the undeniable spark growing between them – complicate their mission. As Christmas Eve draws near, Monica and Michael worry that their differences will keep them from completing their mission in time. Meghan Ory stars as Monica. She’s well known among Hallmark fans for her lead role in “Chesapeake Shores.” According to her Hallmark bio, her credits also include “Once Upon a Time,” “Intelligence,” and more. Hallmark fans may also recognize her from films like “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” and “The Memory Book.”
Benjamin Ayres stars as Michael. He’s a mega-Hallmark star, with credits like “Falling for Vermont,” “Love By Chance,” “Field Day,” “Long Lost Christmas,” “Miracle in Bethlehem, PA,” and more. His other credits include “Lost Girl,” “Battlestar Galactica,” “Smallville,” “Dan for Mayor,” “jPod,” and more.
