Hallmark fan favorite Ashley Williams has been taking her career in a new direction over the past couple of years. Williams has been on a journey to work behind the camera, and she just revealed some major news about what is next for her.
Ashley Williams Lands New Gig On Hit TV Show
The actress has been a Hallmark staple for years, making fans smile all year long but especially at Christmas. However, Williams has revealed she has a role that’s making her smile these days.
In a social media share, Williams confirmed she has directed her second episode of “The Rookie.” Williams posted a video of her yelling, “Here we go! Ready and action,” along with several photos of her time on set.
There were some behind-the-scenes shots of Williams looking exhausted but grinning from ear to ear, showing she was having a great time. Williams even posed with a sign that read “The Rookie Ashley Williams EP 815 Director.”
The episode is titled “Survive the Streets” and will see the Mid-Wilshire crew work together after Celina (Lisseth Chavez) and Nolan (Nathan Fillion) find a dead body that leads to conspiracy theories and chaos.
“I am such a genuine fan of this show, and getting to direct the upcoming episode of The Rookie (it airs Monday!) was some of the best times with the best humans working at the very top of their game. This marks the second time Williams has directed the hit ABC show. Williams directed “The Rookie” Season 7, Episode 15, “A Deadly Secret,” which aired in April 2025 as part of her participation in the Scripted Director program within Disney Entertainment Television.
Ashley Williams Shows Love For Hallmark Family
While the actress has been focusing on other avenues in her career, that doesn’t mean she’s leaving acting or Hallmark behind. In fact, Williams was front and center a couple of weeks ago to celebrate the Season 13 finale of “When Calls the Heart” and the premiere of “Hope Valley 1874.”
The night gave Williams a chance to spend time with her Hallmark family, something she truly enjoys. Williams last appeared in the 2025 Christmas movie “An Alpine Holiday,” but she is slated to appear in the upcoming movie “Nothing But Love.”
