Great news for “The Way Home” fans! Chyler Leigh is back on the farm, filming the hit Hallmark Channel show’s fourth season. The actor, who plays Kat Landry, took to Instagram to share an adorable photo of her cuddling a barn kitten while on set.
“Another year on ‘The Way Home’ farm … another batch of barn kittens,” she wrote over the pic, in which she is shown in a casual button-down shirt and under-eye patches.
Leigh continued, “The 30 minutes of pins and needles in my arm after the snuggle session with this 6-week-old baby was 💯worth it.”
Chyler Leigh Has Teased What’s in Store for Season 4
On March 6, fans of “The Way Home” were treated to a huge surprise when Leigh and her TV mom Andie MacDowell revealed via Instagram that the show had been renewed for another season which will air in 2026.
At a Comic-Con event in July, Leigh shared yet another big reveal when she said that season 4 of the show will feature Kat time-traveling to the year 1925. Kat’s journey will perhaps solve a riddle delivered by Fern, Colton’s grandmother. “Twenty-five first arrive, 25 never tried. Sixty-five, thought they died, 65, still alive,” Fern, played by Jill Frappier, says when first encountering Kat.
During an interview with TV Insider, the mother-daughter showrunners Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke kept mum about exact details, but shared that Kat’s next jump into the pond could indeed involve Fern. “Anything Fern says is a clue about her and her relationship to this family,” Clarke said. “I think she’s such a fascinating character, and that, I think, is what we can say.”

“We were a blubbering mess at the table read,” Leigh said, and Laflamme-Snow shared, “Everyone was just, like, throwing Kleenex boxes at me … I was inconsolable.”
