Hallmark Star Ginna Claire Mason Reveals Her Real Time Travel Dreams

In their new Hallmark movie, “A Newport Christmas,” Ginna Claire Mason plays Ella, a 1905 socialite who ends up in 2025. The first person she meets is Wes Brown’s character, Nick, and of course, she quickly falls for him.

But for Ginna Claire, as much as she admits that she’s a “history nerd,” she’s not as keen to go back in time like her character does. Instead, she’d love to get a glimpse of the future.

‘A Newport Christmas’ Co-Stars Split on Time Travel Preferences

“I was in ‘A Holiday Spectacular’ a few years ago, and I actually got to play a character in the 50s, and I do love that time,” Ginna Claire told “TV Fanatic.” However, given the choice of which time period she’d like to visit, it’s one that no one has seen.

“I would love to go back, but I think it could be fun — if it was temporary — to go way in the future and see things that I’ll never see,” she confessed.

“Maybe go forward 120 years and see what that’s like,” she continued. “Could be interesting.”

Wes, on the other hand, would choose to leave peeking at the future to Ginna Claire.

“I’m going to leave forward alone for a minute,” he said, laughing. “Go back, see everything from food to fashion to film. So see how everything was created, just to maybe sit with that for a minute. That would be kind of interesting. I’ll leave the future to the future.”

Ginna Claire Mason’s Touching Family Tradition Inspires Holiday Cheer

The one thing the co-stars were in perfect agreement on was the importance of traditions. For Ginna Claire, it was one started by her parents.

“When my dad met my mom 50 years ago at summer camp, he juggled oranges for her,” the “Carol For Two” star said. “And every year since then, he juggles oranges for her on their anniversary of when they met. And growing up, they always put an orange in the toe of my stocking.”

“That is something I’m going to do moving forward with my kids, because it will always make me think of my parents and their love,” she continued. “And the way that they made Christmas so special for us. And so I hope I can do that moving forward.”

While Wes felt there was no way to top that, Ginna Claire reminded him that he could start a new tradition, such as making holiday music. The two recorded a Christmas song inspired by the film, called “Timeless Christmas.” It was released on October 31.

“A Newport Christmas” will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on November 2 at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT.
