Fans of Hallmark’s “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” are one step closer to seeing new movies in the series. Apparent titles for the next two films have quietly surfaced online, and fans have plenty to say about them.
Casting Is Beginning for ‘Kitchen Expert: A Hannah Swensen Mystery’
According to Production Weekly, the title of the upcoming installment of Hallmark’s fan favorite mystery series is “Kitchen Expert: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.”
A post on the social media site X, formerly Twitter, indicates that casting for the movie is underway. The post was shared by Casting About on January 15 and read, “JACKIE LIND is casting the Hallmark TV Movie KITCHEN EXPERT, the latest in the Hannah Swensen Mysteries series.”
Filming will take place in Vancouver. The website Mystery and Romance TV noted that this is the same location where Hallmark has filmed previous installments of the movie series.
The project is not a complete surprise to many Hallmark fans. Despite the significant casting shift in bringing in Victor Webster after Cameron Mathison’s Hallmark departure, viewers have continued to embrace the movies.
As the Instagram page Hallmark Enthusiast 247 noted, star Barbara Niven mentioned another installment of the series while at December’s Christmas Con event.
According to Niven, the group recently finished filming “Murder at the Masquerade: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.”
So far, it does not appear that Hallmark has released any premiere dates for either “Murder at the Masquerade” or “Kitchen Expert.”
Hallmark Fans Are Excited About the Return of ‘Hannah Swensen Mysteries’
Hallmark fans got two new “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” in 2025, and it seems the network may have similar plans for 2026. “Reality Bites: A Hannah Swensen Mystery” debuted in February 2025.
The second 2025 release in the series came in June when “Pie to Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery” premiered.
Fans have an ongoing debate regarding whether they are “Team Norman,” referring to Gabriel Hogan’s character, or “Team Chad,” Webster’s character, for Alison Sweeney’s Swensen. Despite that, everybody is looking forward to additional installments.
“Can’t wait for a new one. It’s my favorite thing on Hallmark,” one fan wrote on Facebook.
Another declared, “If Victor is in it, I am watching!!”
Someone else raved, “This is great news indeed! I love Hannah Swensen Mysteries, but I love Alison more! I think Victor is a fabulous addition, and I enjoy him as Chad!”
“Anything Alison is a very welcome event,” an additional response read.
A “Team Norman” fan wrote, “The last movie I felt the chemistry was better between Hannah and Chad, however I am all onboard for Norman and Hannah to get together!! The actors have such great chemistry and are always so funny when together!”
I love and look for any movie she is in, I can’t wait for this season. Of course, I watch all the reruns!

The best chemistry all along in the Hannah Swenson movies has been Norman. Norman supports Hannah’s curiosity and has helped her many times and they have the most fun. I liked Cameron as an actor, but he didn’t fit in with Hannah’s mystery-solving, I like Victor Webster as an actor, but he also doesn’t fit in with Hannah’s mystery-solving.
Also, If I am not mistaken the book series has Hannah end up with Norman.
Allison and Victor have good chemistry. Loved them in the wedding veil trilogy.
I am definitely team Norman. I find Victor Webster to be a little artificial, sorry…. I find Allison to be more in tune with more intellectual actors like Norman and I loved the movie she did with Niall Matter.
Hannah Swensen Mysteries are the Best. Alison is very talented, even to the extent of writing some of the Mysteries. She is my All Time favorite actress, and her chemistry with Victor is spot on! I love seeing them together. Looking forward to many more of these mysteries!

I agree. I like Barbara Niven but not in Hannah Swensen movies. Her character overtakes the movie . The movie should be named after her and not Hannah.
Love, love, love the Hannah Swensen mysteries. I don’t feel the chemistry is there with Norman or Chad. Norman and her should remain friends. Don’t know whatever happened with Norman’s girlfriend. Did I miss something? Felt her and Cameron Mattison had the best chemistry and was heartbroken when he left. I also am a big fan of General Hospital and although don’t like the character he is playing there, I realize it is part of the role he is playing, and he is playing it well. Would like to see development with her and Chad…

I have loved Alison Sweeny since she was Sami Brady in the 90s!! I enjoyed her time with Cameron Mathison, but she is perfect with Victor Webster as Chad! The role is different, the interaction every bit as much fun, and I can’t wait for the next Hannah Swensen mystery! They are great and it’s been too long a wait for the next one to come! Hooray!
