Holly Robinson Peete and husband Rodney Peete have been happily married for 30 years, but the actress admits they probably would have “struggled” if they met today. See what the Hallmark star said about relationships in the age of social media.
Holly Robinson Peete Admits Dating Now Is More Challenging
In a September 2025 interview with People, Peete, the star of Hallmark’s “Hats Off to Love,” opened up about her marriage to husband Rodney.
When asked if she would have chosen her husband if they met on a show like Bravo’s “Kings Court,” Peete said, “Absolutely not.”
Given the challenges of dating in the social media age, the actress said she doesn’t “think we would’ve made it this far just because it’s just so hard to.”
Peete explained, “In the social media age of swiping and all that, I think that we would’ve struggled. I met Rodney during a time before social media, and I think that would’ve been a huge roadblock for us.”
She noted, “First of all, I’m nosy. I would’ve known everywhere he was because everything’s got a little location.”
Peete said she “always know[s] where he is” as well as where their children, Ryan and Rodney Jr, 27, Robinson, 22, and Roman, 20, are located.
“I don’t abuse the privilege, but if I had had a location on him when we were dating and he was out there, that wouldn’t have been good,” she shared.
Peete added, “So I think that not having that was a big favor for us.”
Holly Robinson Peete Shares Secret of Her Happy Marriage
In a June 2025 interview with People, Peete shared that they celebrated their 30th anniversary with a dinner date that included “some friends that have been with us along the way.”
“I think some of the secret sauce to having a really good long relationship is surrounding yourself with people who wanna see you win as a couple. You know?” she noted. “And those people that were at your wedding that saw the courtship and all.”
Peete shared, “So we invited them and then our kids, and we just kept it really sweet and intimate.”
She added, “We’re gonna celebrate a little later on a trip in Europe. But for now [a dinner], and then we knew we had to come to work. So, we had a really beautiful, intimate, love-filled dinner.”
They also shared what they most admire about each other. Peete told her husband, “I admire most that you put up with me and you’re patient with me. You’re very patient with me sometimes.”
Her husband echoed the sentiment, noting, “That you put up with me all, all my faults and everything that we’ve been through. You still look at me the same way. So I love you for that.”
