With an impressive résumé that includes more than 40 Hallmark movies, over 15 of them holiday favorites, Lacey Chabert has become the face of festive storytelling and the network’s undisputed “Queen of Christmas.”
The 42-year-old actress joined “Live with Kelly & Mark” to talk about what makes Hallmark’s heartwarming films so appealing.
Kelly-Chabert Discusses What Makes Hallmark Movies ‘Special’
GettyKelly Ripa noted that people find Hallmark movies “so comforting,” to which Chabert smiled and agreed. “It’s nostalgia,” she said. “It’s cozy, it’s like comfort food. Hallmark really captures people’s milestones.”
Known for bringing warmth to screens during the holidays, Chabert explained that she never expected her career to take such a heartwarming turn. In a different appearance in January on “Live with Kelly & Mark,” Chabert said, “I never would’ve known when I did the first one that it would turn into what it has,” she said.
“I’m just so proud of it and the journey and the excitement of all that filming 40 movies has brought to my life. It’s just been a beautiful experience.”
A Sweet Reunion on ‘Live with Kelly & Mark’
In January this year, Chabert reflected on her early acting days and her shared history with Ripa and Mark Consuelos on “All My Children.” She played Bianca Montgomery, the daughter of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), while Ripa and Consuelos starred as Hayley and Mateo.
“You were a baby actress,” Ripa told Chabert. “I started when I was 7 years old, here in the city,” Chabert replied, recalling her time on the show from 1992 to 1993. “But you know what I remember from the show is you.”
A surprised Ripa asked, “You do?!” Chabert nodded. “Yes, Susan Lucci was wonderful and was so much fun, but I remember you. And I thought you were just the coolest.”
Ripa laughed, saying, “And now that you’re an adult you realize I was struggling and the goofiest weirdo ever.” Chabert replied warmly, “You’re still the best. I still want to be just like you.”
Consuelos chimed in, “She was really, really, really cool.”
The Queen of Christmas Expands Her Holiday Empire
Having recently finished filming her 44th Hallmark movie, Lacey Chabert continues to hold the title as the actress most closely tied to Hallmark’s beloved Christmas lineup. Her latest project is part of a multi-year collaboration with the network, announced in February, that expands her work both in front of and behind the camera.
Through the partnership, the “Mean Girls” favorite collaborated with Hallmark’s creative team to design her first-ever collection of Christmas decorations and wrapping essentials.
The festive, vintage-inspired line made its debut during season two of her unscripted series “Celebrations with Lacey Chabert,” which airs Monday nights on Hallmark Channel.
With her signature warmth and charm, Chabert continues to make every holiday season a little brighter for her fans.
