A former star from Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” recently gave fans a big update on how she is doing, nearly two years after a tragic accident. Mamie Laverock, who played Rosaleen Sullivan on WCTH, has been posting tidbits on her Facebook page for fans. With each update, fans have been amazed by how well she is doing.
In May 2024, Laverock was placed on life support after falling five stories while admitted as a patient to a hospital in Vancouver.
Laverock appeared in a handful of episodes of “When Calls the Heart” as a child, and later returned for several episodes in season 10.
Mamie Laverock Is Working Full-Time on Her Recovery
On January 26, Laverock posted a video on her Facebook page that showed her working out. In the caption, she wrote, “610 days since the fall, 20 months of full time recovery.”
She continued, “Trying harder than ever to make gains.”
A few days earlier, on January 22, Laverock posted a photo on Facebook that showed her in a swimming pool. Her full-time recovery efforts have incorporated a wide range of exercise types to help her rebuild her strength.
In a comment on that post, Laverock wrote, “Breakthroughs come just keep doing the work.”
In an additional January 22 post, the “When Calls the Heart” alum’s mom, Nicole Rockmann, noted that Laverock was beginning hydrotherapy. While she had tried some hydrotherapy earlier on in her recovery, Laverock had not been able to continue with it at the time.
Now, however, “Today is a new day and it will mark the beginning of this as a weekly session.” Laverock’s mom added, “To every parent out there…help bridge your injured child…to the places they need most for continued success in their story.”
A Facebook post shared in September 2025 marked Laverock’s first day returning to the pool. The caption noted that she previously had been “an accomplished professional lifeguard, competitive swimmer and swim instructor.”
The caption continued, “Mamie was one of the fastest and one of the most beautiful swimmers to watch.” Her first day back in the pool after her accident marked the start of Laverock’s relearning to swim.
