SEE: Emma Watson Makes Rare Public Appearance in Viral Video

Harry Potter” actress Emma Watson has recently stepped back from public life but has made a rare outing. This comes after another recent appearance for the 36-year-old, who usually keeps a low profile.

As a child actress, she rose to fame in the “Harry Potter” franchise playing Hermione Granger. She subsequently won acclaim for performances in the likes of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and “Beautify and the Beast.” Her last major role came in the Greta Gerwig film “Little Women” in 2019. Since then, Watson has taken a hiatus from acting, although has made it clear she intends to return in the future.

Her latest public appearance didn’t come at a charity event or red carpet premiere. Instead, she was captured on video at Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival over the weekend. Watson could be seen enthusiastically dancing and singing along to Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!”

Emma Watson Dances to Chappell Roan in Viral Festival Video

In the footage, Watson can be seen casually dressed dancing with a friend to the hit song. Most of the people around her also seem unaware that it is the former “Harry Potter” star. Even the person filming the action didn’t recognize her until later.

“Went to watch Chappell on my break when I see these two girls having the best time,” the TikTok user wrote over the footage. After initially thinking Watson and her friend were simply two particularly ordinary fans, she then realized who she was watching. She added, “I saw it was the queen herself, HERMIONE!”

The viral video saw other users admit their shock at seeing Watson at the concert. One commented, “Emma Watson dancing and singing along to Hot To Go in the middle of a music festival was not on my 2026 bingo.”

Rodrigo later shared a series of images from the festival. One of them included Watson and Rodrigo appearing alongside Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan. The singer captioned the post “full of joy.”

While Watson has largely stayed out of the public’s eye in recent years, her appearance at the festival is not entirely surprising. The all-women lineup, which included the likes of Garbage and The Breeders, raised money supporting women and girls.

Watson has been a long-time advocate for women’s rights and was appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2014.

Emma Watson Appeared Alongside A Royal Earlier This Summer

Earlier this summer, Watson was also spotted at an event with Prince William and Benedict Cumberbatch. She was attending the Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife business forum in London.

During the event, Watson participated in a panel discussing how businesses can help tackle environmental crime. The actress implored brands and companies to be transparent and use the power of storytelling to combat illegal wildlife trafficking.
