The HGTV designer’s ex put up a post on Instagram that has fans asking if Ant Anstead has married girlfriend, actress Renee Zellweger. In the post, Ant writes, “Taking the missus for a tour of the west country… Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. we popped into Boscastle Pottery where I filmed a craft show some years ago…..! Of course we had to pick up some mugs to take home! This part of the UK is simply MAGICAL 💫”
Wait, did he say “missus?”
The photo with the Instagram post neither shows Zellweger nor tags her.
But fans jumped on the word, echoing it back in the post’s comments, followed by lots and lots of question marks.
Ant Anstead & Renee Zellweger’s Dating Timeline
According to the Daily Mail, this is not the first time Ant Anstead has referred to Zellweger as “the missus” on Instagram. The paper points out that while the term generally means a married woman, it can also be used as slang for someone’s girlfriend, especially in Great Britain.
When Anstead shared a trailer for Zellweger’s Bridget Jones sequel, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” he wrote, ‘The missus was busy being brilliant this summer….. she’s a bloomin Bridget genius! Oh And Leo… we need to quiet chat down a dark alleyway… x’.
The couple first started dating in 2021. But they haven’t been seen together in public since early March, when they attended a soccer game played by Ant and Christina Haack’s son Hudson.
The lack of sightings has sparked rumors of a breakup. But a representative for Anstead says the pair are “still together” according to the Daily Mail.
Renee Zellweger Makes Rare Comment About Relationship
Both Ant Anstead and Renee Zellweger have kept their four-year relationship private. But Renee did refer to it briefly in an interview with British Vogue in January.
“I live in Southern California, near San Diego. Because that’s where my fellow lives, and his little boy,” she said referring to five-year-old Hudson.
Ant Anstead married Christina Haack in 2018, welcoming Hudson just one year later.
They divorced in 2021 and fought a bitter custody battle. But the pair have since reconciled and are on friendly terms. In fact, Ant Anstead served as guest judge, chosen by Christina, in season one of “The Flip Off.”
People quoted Christina saying the reconciliation was a conscious choice both made for the sake of Hudson. “Ant and I share Hudson… and I feel like he deserves to have us get along,” she said.
