Watch Ben & Erin Napier Take on ‘Biggest Risk of Their Lives’ in New HGTV Show

Ben and Erin Napier were up for the challenge when their friends wanted help transforming an old department store in their town into a beautiful hotel. The project wasn’t without many obstacles, however. Watch the sneak peek of HGTV‘s “Home Town: Inn This Together” to see what unfolds.

HGTV Releases Trailer for New Show ‘Home Town: Inn This Together’

In an April 10 press release, HGTV explained the details of “Home Town: Inn This Together.”

“Ben and Erin Napier will lend a helping hand in Laurel, Mississippi’s biggest renovation project yet in the new spinoff series ‘Home Town: Inn This Together.’ The Napiers, who have successfully revived many outdated homes and historical locations in their small town will lean in to help their family and best friends Jim and Mallorie Rasberry and Josh Nowell who plan to restore the dilapidated 1930 Kress building in downtown Laurel,” the network explained.

Of course, there’s plenty of drama as they convert the old space into The Heirloom hotel.

“The enterprising trio believes the 25,000-square-foot space that’s been vacant for 40 years will be the perfect setting for a hotel, food venue and storefront, but they’ll face an array of challenges on the way to make their dream a reality, including: crumbling walls, flooded floors, seven figure budget dilemmas and a devastating fire that severely damages the hotel post renovation,” the release noted.

On May 7, HGTV posted a sneak peek of the show, which premieres Sunday, May 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

In the clip, Erin explains, “This is one of those final pieces of a puzzle and the very biggest and riskiest piece of a puzzle too.”

She notes, “It doesn’t matter how much progress we see in downtown Laurel as long as its most iconic building stands vacant and empty and dilapidated. We will not feel like we’ve really done something.”

The video includes text saying it’s “the biggest risk of their lives.”

What’s ahead of them? Well, quite a lot, including a broken elevator, massive repairs, and a very expensive hotel sign.

Erin Napier Shares Scope of ‘Inn This Together’ Hotel: ‘It Feels Impossible’

In the clip, Ben says, “If you’re going to take a 1930s department store and turn it into a hotel, then you have to look at what this building was originally. What did it look like?”

The couple notes, “29 hotel rooms. A lobby. A cooking school. A retail space. It feels impossible.”

“When the building is done, it’s gonna look like one of those black-and-white photos of the department store has come to life,” Erin explains. “It feels like it’s been in black and white and sad for so long — when the people who live here see that dilapidated building finally restored, it says something.”

She adds, “We just want to be those maverick makers who did something huge in this small town that is still going.”

Fans are looking forward to seeing the process and end result, given that the project was sidelined by a fire.

“Isn’t this the building that burned down over the winter before they finished renovating it?” one fan asked.

Another shared, “I believe it is (the Heirloom Hotel). I guess they decided to salvage & rebuild.”
