Jenny Marrs Shares Frantic Farm Scare After Overnight Storm

Jenny Marrs is feeling extra grateful after a storm rolled through overnight. The HGTV star shared the panic that set in after a troubling discovery on the farm.

Jenny Marrs Details Farm Scare: ‘My Heart Pounded’

On May 5, Marrs took to Instagram to share the details of a scare she had with the family farm animals.

“We had a big storm roll through overnight and woke up to Walter and Hazel in the yard, grazing outside the kitchen windows,” she wrote in the caption, adding that they quickly realized one of the stable doors was open.

Marrs continued, “I’m not sure what happened but I must have not latched it properly and maybe they pushed on it during the storm? I frantically ran outside assuming Belle (our Great Pyrenees — livestock guardian dog — who loves to roam) and all of the other sheep most likely escaped. My heart pounded as I considered all of the possibilities … only to find all of our adult sheep lying contentedly in the back pasture.”

The HGTV shared her worry about their missing dog.

“Jack woke up and came outside the barn when he heard the commotion so I knew he and Belle hadn’t taken off on an adventure together (they’re prone to this). Yet, Belle was missing and my heart sunk when I saw her tracking collar’s battery had died,” Marrs shared.

She continued, “Just as Dave jumped in the car to go look for her while I fed the lambs their morning bottle, Ben ran out and announced that Belle was in the pasture! She must’ve been sleeping inside the barn when I had called for her earlier. 🙌”

Marrs noted, “The relief I felt was palpable as I thanked God for protecting our animals. I’ve shared before about how incredible our Great Pyrenees instincts are but I’ll never get over the way God created these gentle giants to guard and protect with such fierce loyalty.”

The HGTV Star’s Dog Jack Went Missing in 2025

Marrs wondered if Belle didn’t roam this time because of their newest additions to the farm. “In years past, Belle would have bolted out of the open gate to ensure the surrounding countryside (and now, neighborhoods and busy highways) were safe,” the “Fixer to Fabulous” star wrote.

“This time, she stayed put and I truly believe it’s because she would never have left her adopted lamb babies. She knows Walter and Hazel depend on her for protection and, each night, they snuggle in close by her side to sleep,” Marrs added. “She would never have left them. Creation is truly, truly amazing.”

In April 2025, their dog Jack went missing and she put out a call on her Instagram Stories for locals to keep an eye out for him. The dog wore a GPS tracker, but the battery died and they were frantically looking for him.

Thankfully, he was found, and the family was reunited with their beloved pooch.

“Our boy is HOME!! I had the smallest thread of hope left that we’d ever find Jack so when a friend texted me this morning that someone thought they had spotted him and gave me the address, I dropped everything and raced over there,” Marrs explained in her May 3 Instagram post caption.
