Actress, singer, and producer Emma Roberts has shared a heartfelt tribute to her “Scream 4” co-star Hayden Panettiere following the tragic news of her passing at the age of just 36.
Roberts, 35, the daughter of actor Eric Roberts, played Jill Roberts in the 2011 slasher sequel, while Panettiere played her best friend Kirby Reed. Of course, Jill betrayed Kirby in the movie, as she turned out to be one of the “Scream” franchise’s iconic Ghostface killers. However, away from the screen, the two remained very close.
The “Scream Queens” star took to social media to pay her respects to her friend and one-time co-star.
Emma Roberts Describes Hayden Panettier as ‘So Loved’
Emma Roberts shared her tribute to the late Hayden Panettiere with the 19.8 million followers on her Instagram account.
Her post includes a carousel of two photographs — both of which include Roberts and Panettiere together.
In the first picture, Roberts, wearing a black and blue outfit with a ponytail, kisses a grinning Panettiere, who’s wearing a pink dress, on the forehead. In the second picture, with both stars dressed more casually in jeans/trousers, they are embracing against a red backdrop. Panettiere is smiling, while Roberts is the one with a huge cheesy grin on her face in this one.
Roberts’ caption on her post reads, “rest in peace my sweet friend. you are so loved and you will be forever missed ❤️.”
It’s understandable that Roberts and Panettiere would be so close, having starred in “Scream 4” together. Not only were they around the same age, but both began their careers as child actors, meaning they had that in common, too.
The comments section of Roberts’ post is teeming with messages of love and support from her fans and followers.
