Kim Kardashian’s New Movie Gets a Tease From Eva Longoria

Kim Kardashian’s Netflix comedy “The Fifth Wheel” just got a fresh update from someone who saw it all come together. In a new interview with People, director Eva Longoria said the film wrapped after three months of production and ended in Las Vegas. The update gave fans a current look at where the project stands now.

Longoria also offered a better sense of the movie’s tone. She called it an “unapologetically R-rated female ensemble comedy” and saying working on it felt like a dream job. She added that she and Kardashian had “a blast” making it, which instantly made the post-production update feel more personal than a standard end-of-shoot note.

More of the Movie Comes Into Focus

When the movie was first introduced in January, the conversation centered on Kardashian stepping into her first leading role in a Netflix feature and Longoria directing the project. This time, the update came after cameras stopped rolling, which gave Longoria room to talk about how the experience actually played out once the film was fully shot.

According to Netflix Tudum, “The Fifth Wheel” follows a group of high school best friends who reunite in Las Vegas. Kardashian’s character joins the trip and throws off the group dynamic as the women deal with friendships, personal chaos and a weekend that does not go as planned. The cast includes, Nikki Glaser, Fortune Feimster and Brenda Song, with Will Ferrell, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson and Scott MacArthur also appearing in the film. Kardashian and Ferrell are producing as well.

Longoria’s comments add another detail without spoiling the movie itself. She told People Kardashian is the “anchor of the movie,” a line that says a lot about how central the role is without giving away what happens once the story gets rolling. That kind of reaction stands out because it comes from the directer after months on set, not from a teaser campaign or a first-look photo drop.

Why This Feels Like a Bigger Step for Kardashian

For Kardashian, the film arrives as her acting career keeps expanding. She has already stepped into scripted roles, and now has a leading role in a Netflix comedy built around a stacked ensemble cast. Longoria’s latest comments make it sound like Kardashian is not just part of the package. She is one of the reasons the movie works.

Longoria also said loved how women drove the production, from the writers and producers to the cast and director. She went on to describe the atmosphere on set as nonstop fun, which lines up with the kind of female-led comedy Netflix first promised when the film was announced.

There is still no release date for “The Fifth Wheel,” but Monday’s interview offered more than another staged promo image. It gave fans a real post-wrap read on the movie from the person directing it, along with a stronger sense of how Kardashian fits into the film now that production is done.
