Kylie Jenner’s former assistant, Victoria Villarroel, is opening up about the surprisingly relatable moment she realized her time in the high-profile role had run its course. Reflecting on her years working closely with the “Kardashians” star, Villarroel shared how a small, lighthearted exchange made it clear their professional dynamic had shifted. This ultimately prompted her to step away from a job many would consider a dream.
Crossed Into Unprofessional Territory
In a recent episode of her “Better Half” podcast, which she co-hosts with Jenner’s BFF Stassie Karanikolaou, they took a deep dive into the lore of Victoria.
During this conversation, Villarroel talked about leaving her job as Kylie’s assistant, “I remember like it was yesterday. This was year five.”
That moment? Villaroel joked, “We were in the kitchen and [Jenner] was like, ‘Vic, I need my laptop, it’s upstairs.”’ She was like, “Oof, who’s gonna get that?”
She went on, “I said something crazy like, ‘Oof, that seems far, I don’t want to go get your laptop.’”
Villarroel went on to say that she had a good working relationship with the “Kardashians” star, but “you can’t not get so close with a person you see every single day.” She added, “You know everything about them, you’re with them at all times — good or bad.”
A Mutual Agreement
Once things “got to that point,” Victoria went on to say that she and Jenner just looked at each other and sort of had a mutual agreement. That agreement? That her time as Jenner’s assistant had come to an end.
Villarroel recalled, “I remember being so nervous and thinking, ‘Am I making the right decision? What if I’m leaving the best job I could ever have?’”
She also said that she had people “in [her] ear” telling her not to leave the job that “people would die for.”
Future Support
When the conversation was had regarding Villarroel leaving the job, the Kylie Cosmetics founder told Victoria that she would continue to support her in any future endeavors she chose.
Villarroel said, “She was the most understanding person, she was like, ‘Oh my God, Vic, I want you to thrive, and I’m going to be here supporting you, and I love you so much.’”
In January 2020, she quit her job as Jenner’s assistant. At the time, it was reported that she left the job to pursue a career as an influencer.
At the time, Us Weekly reported that the duo were “still friends and close.” They added, “Kylie doesn’t have any bad feelings about Victoria going off to do her own thing and is supportive.”
That support continues today, as the pair have remained extremely close over the years, with Villarroel being part of Jenner’s inner circle.
