’80s Icon Madonna Generously Gives Back To New York Artists

While Madonna is one of the most recognizable names in music today, the singer admittedly struggled to find her space in the entertainment world.

As the pop star reflected on her own journey to fame, she realized she wanted to give back to other performers. Now, Madonna is teaming up with the brand, Bilt, to make a difference in the lives of New York artists.

Madonna Pays Rent For New York City Musicians

As the cost of living and rent prices continue to skyrocket, Madonna wants to help struggling artists in New York City. She and Bilt are joining forces to pay one month’s rent for every musician at Midtown’s Music Building.

“As the first stop in the music creation process, the Music Building has consistently been viewed by the music community as an integral part of their trade-craft,” the facility’s website reads. “Prior to reaching stardom, artists such as Madonna, Blondie, Billy Idol, and Metallica, rehearsed and refined their first hits in our music rehearsal space.”

Without the Music Building, Madonna might never have achieved the accolades she went on to earn.

“Artists arrive every day to New York, with a dream and more often than not with little else,” the singer shared in an official statement to PEOPLE. “As much as I struggled when I showed up here with nothing, I look back very fondly on this time in my life. The creativity, diversity and community of artists all supporting each other while having the freedom to experiment is something I would have never experienced in another place.”

PEOPLE notes that the incredibly kind gesture is part of a massive celebration to promote Madonna’s new album, “Confessions II.” It’s the sequel to her 2005 album, “Confessions on a Dance Floor.” The new album debuts this summer, and fans can’t wait to hear Madonna’s latest sound.

The Queen of Pop Performs at Coachella

During Coachella 2026, Madonna appeared alongside Sabrina Carpenter, much to the delight of attendees.

“I have a few things I wanna get off my chest. Twenty years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ in America,” Madonna told the crowd, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter.

“And that was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So, it’s like a full circle moment, very meaningful for me,” the singer added.

Madonna later gushed about the evening on Instagram.

“Still flying high since Friday night at Coachella!” the 67-year-old shared with her social media audience. “Thank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible To Bring Confessions II back to where it began -was such a thrill! A moment in history, I will never forget! 🩷 I FEEL SO FREE 🩷”

Madonna’s album, “Confessions II,” debuts on July 3, 2026.
