Britney Spears is one of the most influential artists of all time. Because of this, her fans all over the world are rooting for her happiness. Recently, the “Opps… I Did It Again” singer took to social media to make a bold and honest declaration about her ill-fated marriage to Sam Asghari.
Spears posted on Instagram on August 25 and reflected on her kids, her life, and her marriage to Asghari. She said, “We’re just people so fragile and human, the hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years…”
The singer continued, “I was cut off from calling or texting, and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears, it’s weird me and Sam were married, but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it.”
The mom of two then discussed healing, saying, “Well I know im healing bc im hungry again like a child or baby… im so hungry it hurts and when I eat its like its my first time ever eating in my life … I believe although I loved my home there is waaay too much abuse and trauma in there.”
Spears went on, “Today I thank Jesus for food, it feels like telling others NO… Owning my body… and letting them REALLY know where im from… My soul has never experienced food like this a day in my life… so silly and embarrassing im going to eat cookies and cream ice cream now…god bless u all.”
She and Asghari Have Moved on With Their Lives
Spears and Asghari tied the knot on June 9, 2022, after having met in 2016. Notably, they met on the set of her music video for “Slumber Party.” They began dating the year after. She made their relationship Instagram official on New Year’s Day 2017.
Sadly, their union didn’t last as sources confirmed to PEOPLE in August 2023 that they had separated. It was Asghari who filed for divorce from Spears, and it was finalized in May 2024. He has since appeared on “The Traitors” season three.
Spears Recently Discussed Adopting a Child
Spears is already the proud mom to Sean Preston and Jayden Federline. However, she made a post on Instagram on July 13 that caused many of her fans to believe she had adopted another child. According to E! News, she said in the post that the child’s name was Lennon London Spears.
Despite this, it seems Spears was only joking about having adopted “a beautiful baby girl.” The Instagram post also contained three winky face emojis, signaling that she was having fun on social media. Still, the singer is working on gaining better terms with her sons. Specifically, she spent time with Jayden over the 2024 Holiday season.
