Bruno Mars Announces New Album After 10 Years and Fans Are Losing It

Bruno Mars just sent the internet into a frenzy with four simple words.

The Grammy-winning singer confirmed his long-awaited new album is officially finished, marking his first solo studio project in nearly a decade. Mars shared the update on Monday, Jan. 5, posting on X, “My album is done,” according to his official account. The announcement immediately sparked excitement across social media, with fans flooding the comments in celebration after years of waiting for new solo music.

For longtime listeners, the moment feels especially big. Mars’ last solo album, “24K Magic,” was released in November 2016 and became a defining project of his career, producing hits like “That’s What I Like,” “Versace on the Floor,” “Finesse” and the album’s title track. Nearly 10 years later, fans are finally getting confirmation that a new era is on the way.

Fans React: “THE GOAT IS BACK”

It didn’t take long for fans to make their feelings known. Within minutes of Mars’ post, the replies filled up with excitement and disbelief.

“The legend is about to drop another banger,” one user wrote. Another fan commented, “THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER,” while someone else added, “Finally the world is ready.” One message summed up the overall mood best, declaring, “THE GOAT IS BACK.”

The reaction highlights just how much anticipation has built around Mars’ next solo release. While the singer has stayed busy with collaborations and live performances, fans have been eager to hear what he would deliver on his own after such a long gap.

What Bruno Has Been Up to Since “24K Magic”

Although Mars has not released a solo album since 2016, he has hardly been absent from the music scene. In 2021, he teamed up with Anderson .Paak to form Silk Sonic, releasing “An Evening With Silk Sonic.” The project was both a critical and commercial success, earning multiple Grammy Awards and producing fan favorites like “Leave the Door Open” and “Smokin Out the Window.”

More recently, Mars has dominated the charts through collaborations. His duet with Lady Gaga, “Die With a Smile,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Grammy for Best Pop Duo or Group Performance in 2025, according to People. He also scored a major global hit with “APT.” alongside Rosé, which reached No. 3 on the Hot 100 and is currently nominated for multiple Grammys at the 2026 ceremony, per Billboard.

Mars’ announcement also revived jokes about a widely circulated gambling debt rumor tied to his Las Vegas residency. Some fans playfully referenced it in the replies, though MGM Resorts International previously denied the claim. Mars himself leaned into the humor last year, joking on Instagram that he was “almost out of debt” after performing with Rosé.

While Mars has not yet revealed the album’s title, release date or track list, the confirmation alone was enough to send fans into celebration mode. For now, the message is clear and straight from the source: “My album is done.”
