Eminem is mourning the loss of a family member.
His grandmother, Betty, has passed away at the age of 87, TMZ reports, having died at her home in Missouri. The cause of death is said to be complications due to breast cancer.
Eminem was not with her at the time of her passing, the outlet adds.

Eminem’s Mother Passed Away In 2024
In 2024, Eminem’s mother, Debbie Nelson, tragically passed away at the age of 69.
In a statement to PEOPLE, a representative for the rapper said that she passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, in St. Joseph, Mo., from complications related to lung cancer.
While the two had a rocky relationship, they were able to somewhat resolve their differences, with Nelson celebrating her son getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
“Marshall, I want to say, I could not let this day go by without congratulating you on your induction into the Hall of Fame,” she said in a since-deleted video (per PEOPLE). “I love you very much. I knew you’d get there. It’s been a long ride. I’m very, very proud of you.”
Some also speculated that his 2013 son “Headlights” included an apology to Nelson.
Eminem Is A Grandpa
In April 2025, Eminem became a grandfather when his daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, gave birth to a baby boy named, Elliot Marshall McClintock.

Eminem’s eldest daughter, Alaina Scott, announced in October 2025 that she is expecting, with her and her husband standing in a field holding a white onesie that read, “Baby Moeller” and “Coming 2026.”
“THE BEST OF YOU + ME,” Scott captioned her post. “For months, I’ve carried a tiny heartbeat inside me, one that has already changed mine in every possible way.”
