KISS Rocker Gene Simmons Shares Reassuring Health Update Following Car Crash

Gene Simmons was hospitalized in Malibu on Tuesday, October 7, after he was involved in a car crash, but the KISS rocker has since spoken out and provided an update to fans.

“Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens,” Simmons posted on X on Wednesday, Oct. 8. “Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”

The crash was reported just before 1 p.m., in which Simmons’ Lincoln Navigator hit a parked car, NBC4 Los Angeles reported. Witnesses called 911. He was “speaking with first responders, authorities said. He told deputies he passed out or fainted, then hit the parked car.”

A spokesperson for the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station confirmed to PEOPLE that the driver, who was Simmons, “was transported to the hospital by LA County Fire for further treatment.”

Simmons’ wife Shannon Tweed told NBC4 Los Angeles that he is at home recovering and the doctors recently changed his medication, noting that he needs to drink more water. She also said that his car went across a few lanes of traffic.


Another KISS Alum Recently Forced To Cancel Tour Due To Medical Issues

KISS co-founder Ace Frehley announced on Monday, Oct. 6 that he had to cancel the remaining dates of his tour due to “ongoing medical issues.”

“Due to some ongoing medical issues, Ace has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of his 2025 dates,” Frehley said in the Instagram post.

This comes after Frehley posted a message to fans on Sept. 25, revealing that he “had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital.”

“He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctors insist that he refrain from travel at this time,” the statement continued.

Fans left very supportive messages for Frehley after he had to cancel the tour.

“Sending good vibes your way Space Ace !🙏💙⚡️,” one fan wrote.

“Rest up, Ace. You’ve done all that you ever need to do, Legend 🙏,” another fan commented.

“I’m sure God will heal you in the best possible way, Space Ace! My prayers, my thoughts and my heart are with you now. 💗,” a fan said.
