Heeseung is leaving the popular K-Pop group Enhypen and will now be pursuing a solo career.
The news was announced by the band on social media, in which they detailed that through “in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that HEESEUNG has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it.”
“As such, HEESEUNG will be parting ways with ENHYPEN, and ENHYPEN will continue official activities henceforth as a group of six members,” the statement continued.
The band was formed in 2020, becoming known due to the reality competition series ‘I-LAND.’ They had a big year, with the group having made their U.S. television debut in April 2025 on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!.” They also went on to perform at Coachella.
In January 2026, the band released a new album, “The Sin: Vanish,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jake, Jay, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon and Ni-ki will continue as ENHYPEN. This is the first change to the group’s lineup.
Heeseung Addresses Fans Following Shocking Announcement
In a statement, Heeseung sent a message to fans.
“The past six years have been filled with moments that are difficult to put into words — moments that were overwhelmingly meaningful, and incredibly precious to me,” he wrote in a letter to fans (per Billboard). “Sharing so many emotions with the members, and having ENGENEs always there to support us, helped me move closer, step by step, to a dream that once felt out of reach. I truly believe none of this would have been possible without you.”
“Those memories will remain some of the most shining and unforgettable moments of my life,” he continued. “I will never forget them, and I want to continue supporting ENHYPEN as someone who will always cheer them on.”
According to Billboard, Heeseung will continue to be represented by Belift Lab, the label ENHYPEN is also with.
Fans React To Heeseung’s Exit
“HELLO? don’t talk to me, i’m devastated,” the official Duolingo account posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Boss, I won’t be able to work today, Heeseung left ENHYPEN and it’s totally ruined my day, hope you understand, okay?”
