VIDEO: 96-Year-Old Katherine Jackson Shares Fun Time With Family for Memorial Day Weekend

Michael Jackson‘s second sister, La Toya Jackson, kicked off Memorial Day weekend by sharing a new Instagram video featuring her 96-year-old mother, Katherine Jackson. In the clip, the matriarch enjoys a hangout with La Toya and Jermaine, before the trio is joined by Katherine’s littlest grandchild.

La Toya, who had a hit with her 1984 single “Heart Don’t Lie,” captioned the video, “Spending time in my mother’s bedroom with family!” The 69-year-old then wished a happy Memorial Day to “all the soldiers that served to protect us.” She added, “We love you, we honour you! Safe travels everyone!”

The video began with La Toya telling her viewers, “Here we are, Jermaine and I, with mother,” before urging Katherine, who wore a colorful maxi dress and red cardigan, to look at the camera. The group was then joined by 75-year-old Rebbie, Michael’s oldest sibling, and her youngest grandson, Abu Bakr Khalifa Jackson.

Abu Bakr is the youngest son of Jermaine. He shares the little boy with his partner Maday Velazquez. La Toya coaxed the cute tot to step to the front of the family photo shoot.


Jermaine Jackson’s Youngest Child Was Introduced at ‘Michael’ Premiere

Jermaine and Maday decided to introduce little Abu Bakr to the public by sharing red carpet photos showing the toddler attending the Berlin premiere of “Michael,” the Michael Jackson biopic starring Jermaine’s 29-year-old son, Jaafar, whom he shares with his second wife, Alejandra.

An Instagram post by an account that appears to post content approved by Jermaine invited the world to “meet the latest addition to the Jackson family” and declared “he has the entertainment gene, like the rest of the family.”

The 3-year-old was born to Jermaine and Maday in Bahrain in 2022. The little boy was dressed to the nines in a suit that matched Jermain’s and looked to be having fun with his parents and big brother.


Paris Jackson Recently Scored a Legal Win in Her Fight to Protect Michael Jackson’s Estate

In other Jackson family news, Michael’s 28-year-old daughter Paris was awarded a $625,000 judgment in the latest turn of events in her legal battle against the executor’s of the King of Pop’s estate.

The sum is comprised of unauthorized bonus payments a Los Angeles judge ordered third-party law firms to return, the New York Post reported they learned on May 14, 2026.

The bonuses were reportedly paid by estate executors John Branca and John McClain. Paris has taken legal action to intervene in the way they are managing her late father’s money after disagreeing with their moves.

The indie folk/rock singer has “has always been focused on what’s best for her family and this ruling is a massive win for them,” the outlet says a spokesperson said.

In the meantime, Michael’s longtime hairstylist Karen Faye, who worked with the legend from the early ’80s through the end of his life, claimed in a recent X post that Michael “wanted Branca out of his life” in the mid-2000s. She also says she recalls hearing conversations between Michael and his brother Randy about Randy paying off an old contractual debt she says Branca “had been pressuring ” Michael about which concerned a percentage of his mammoth music catalog.
