Katherine Jackson, 95, beloved matriarch of the Jackson family, spent quality time with her daughter La Toya Jackson following the funeral of Katherine’s granddaughter-in-law Toyia Jackson earlier this March.
In a video shared to La Toya’s Instagram on March 10 of their time together, La Toya kindly guided her mom to look at the camera as a loved one filmed them from inside of a church.

La Toya captioned the video with a heartfelt message to the Jackson matriarch, letting her fans know that Katherine will be turning 96 years old in May.
“This lovely lady will be 96 on May 4th. A kind soul that radiates love. ❤️ An inspiration to us all! We love you Mother! 💖😘,” La Toya wrote.
The Jackson pair were coated with warm messages from their fans in the comments, placing emphasis on Katherine’s legacy and the incredible job she did raising her 10 children: Rebbie Jackson, 75, Jackie Jackson, 74, Tito Jackson, who died at the age of 70, Jermaine Jackson, 71, La Toya Jackson, 69, Marlon Jackson, 69, Brandon Jackson, who died in infancy, Michael Jackson, who died at the age of 50, Randy Jackson, 64, and Janet Jackson, 59.
“She started it all. We owe respect and gratitude to this great woman. May God bless you, Mrs. Kathy. ✨🙏❤️,” wrote one fan.
“THE MRS JACKSON Y’ALL!!!! What a pillar of strength and indomitable rock this woman is 💪🏻💪🏻🔥,” said another.

In the video, Katherine was dressed to the nines, wearing a pearl necklace and matching pearl earrings. Her dress was black, yellow and white, pairing it with a black overcoat.
La Toya was also dressed to impress in an all-black ensemble, featuring thigh-high boots, a wide-brim hat, a gorgeous mini dress paired with a thick black belt, and, of course, a pair of gloves, because what’s a Jackson family gathering without a special nod to the ever-so-loved Michael Jackson?
Katherine Jackson Says She Still Hears Michael Jackson’s Laughter
In a previous interview with Oprah Winfrey, after Michael’s death in 2009, Katherine opened up about missing her son, the King of Pop, expressing that she often hears his voice in the echoes of the silence.
“I think of my son all through the day, all the time, and I don’t like to talk about him because I get all choked up,” the Jackson matriarch told Oprah.
“A baby in my arms, naming him with my mother… That comes to my mind every day,” Katherine continued. “And sometimes during the day, I can hear his laughter in my mind.”

Katherine went on to discuss the incident that would alter Michael’s life forever: when he was burned on his head while filming a 1984 Pepsi commercial. It is widely believed that Michael became addicted to pain medication after the devastating incident, leading up to his death in 2009, when he went into cardiac arrest due to acute propofol intoxication, TMZ reported.
“Remember when he got burned in the head?” Katherine asked Oprah. “He had been taking those drugs, and it was a long time before I knew he was addicted to them.”
Katherine continued the conversation by saying she was “very serious” about getting Michael to stop using pain medication after the traumatic incident, adding, “I was telling him I didn’t want to hear one day that he had overdosed, because it would break my heart. But he kept saying he wasn’t on anything.”
