Katy Perry made a surprise Los Angeles set feel like a teenage dream with a bar tab attached.
The singer appeared as a special guest during the “Last Dance at The Hotel Café: Cary Brothers & Friends” show, part of the venue’s final run before its longtime room closes after 25 years.
Perry, a special guest during the show who was not on the original lineup featuring Sara Bareilles, Semisonic’s Dan Wilson, Priscilla Ahn and more, performed two songs at the show, according to a fan who posted multiple videos from the night. The clip has reached more than 1.1 million views.
At the show, the “Hot N Cold” singer surprised the crowd with a two-song set and also covered the bar tab for the rest of the night, as seen in the video.
It was a full-circle moment for Perry, who returned to one of her early Los Angeles stages before making the crowd an offer that felt very “Last Friday Night.”

The viral TikTok clip showed the “E.T.” singer loose onstage, joking with the crowd between songs during the surprise appearance.
She kept the look casual in a white T-shirt, black dress and boots, with an acoustic guitar in hand.
“Actually speaking of getting so drunk … I’ve made some money,” Perry said. “I would like to open the bar for the rest of the night!”

“I think we’re gonna pay for it because this is how I pay you back,” the 41-year-old said, joking to the bartenders that they should put the top-shelf liquor away.
The fan who posted the video said Perry surprised The Hotel Café with a two-song set: “The One That Got Away” and “Thinking of You.”
Her viral bar-tab moment was not her first crowd-drinks offer either. During a July 2024 surprise appearance at La Terrazza in Barcelona, Perry offered to buy drinks for the crowd until 3 a.m.
After someone asked if she was sure, she replied, “Honey, I’m rich!”
Katy Perry Has a Packed Summer Ahead

The singer is scheduled to return to the road in June, according to her tour schedule, with upcoming shows across Europe and the U.K. Her official site lists summer dates in Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, Wales, England, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Malta and Switzerland.
The run includes several major festival stops. Perry is set for Rock in Rio Lisboa on June 20, Werchter Boutique in Belgium on June 27, Main Square Festival in France on July 3, Festival Rio Babel in Madrid on July 5, Les Vieilles Charrues in France on July 16 and Lucca Summer Festival in Italy on July 19.
The dates continue Perry’s current live era after the release of “143,” her latest studio album. The album arrived in September 2024 and included the singles “Woman’s World,” “Lifetimes”—the namesake of the tour—and “I’m His, He’s Mine.”
