Keith Urban Reveals The One Life Lesson He Wishes He Learned 10 Years Ago

Keith Urban is looking back with honesty at his musical journey. He admits there’s one key life lesson he wishes he had fully understood a decade ago.

The former “American Idol” judge reflected on his past to PEOPLE Magazine. He spoke to the entertainment outlet while on the red carpet for the 9th Musicians Hall of Fame Concert & Induction Ceremony.

Urban was celebrated for his contribution to the music industry alongside Dann Huff, Dolly Parton, and George Thorogood & The Destroyers. Also honored were John Boylan, Leland Sklar, Michael McDonald, and Nicky Hopkins.


Keith Urban Says Life Lessons Come With ‘Time’

Keith Urban shared that he believes some life lessons can only come through life experience. He added that looking back, certain truths only make sense once you’ve actually lived through them.

“I think all of that can only come with time,” Urban began.

“Less is more, and it’s evolutionary in its expression,” the country superstar continued. “What it is that a musician has to say at one point is relative to where they’re at and what they’ve been through.”

He added, “That can only continue to evolve with life experience.”

Per the Fisher Center’s website, Urban and his fellow hitmakers were honored at the 9th Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum Concert and Induction Ceremony. The event honors “a new class of inductees, whose musicianship has shaped some of the most influential recordings in music history.”

The event is an annual event held in Nashville, Tennessee. This year’s special guests and performers included Garth Brooks, Don Felder, Vince Gill, Buck Johnson, Steve Lukather, Wendy Moten, Steve Wariner, Trisha Yearwood, and Dweezil Zappa.

Keith Urban’s Fans Applauded the Country Superstar on His Latest Accolade

Keith Urban’s induction is one in a long list of accolades the country superstar has received in his lifetime. Furthermore, his fans were thrilled at the award, sharing their comments in the post’s comments section.

First, one fan penned, “No one deserves it more than Keith.” A second wrote, “I watched him play from the beginning and his evolution of music. We don’t know him personally, how he is. But truly, it’s not my business to know. He is evolving as a musician, and that’s all I would like to experience.”

Presently, the singer has won four Grammy Awards, over 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, more than a dozen Country Music Association Awards, six ARIA Awards, and accolades at the American Music Awards and People’s Choice Awards.

In 2017, Urban won the Recording Artists’ Coalition Award for his work with music education. at the 2017 Grammys on the Hill Awards.

Keith Urban achieved a rare Triple Crown at the ACM Awards. A press release explains, “The ACM Triple Crown Award is a special recognition presented by the Academy of Country Music to artists who have won three distinct, prestigious awards, including New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.”
