Pink is making a major life change for her daughter.
Ahead of hosting the 2026 Tony Awards on June 7, the Grammy-winning singer revealed that she and husband Carey Hart recently moved their family from Los Angeles to New York City to support daughter Willow Hart’s dream of pursuing musical theater and, one day, performing on Broadway.
During an appearance on “CBS Mornings,” Pink shared that 15-year-old Willow has become deeply passionate about theater after spending much of her childhood traveling the world alongside her famous mom on tour.
“She is musical theater obsessed,” Pink said. “She has followed me around the world her whole life, on and off tour, and I told her, ‘It’s your turn, we’ll follow you.'”
The singer said Willow’s talent and dedication made the decision easier. Pink described her daughter as a hardworking student with exceptional singing and acting abilities, even suggesting that Willow is more talented than she was at the same age.
The family’s relocation allows Willow to attend a performing arts high school and immerse herself in New York’s thriving theater scene. According to Pink, the opportunity felt important because she never had the same educational experience while pursuing her own career.
Speaking with Extra, Pink explained that she wanted Willow to have a chance to chase her dreams while still receiving a specialized education.
“I told her, ‘Listen, this is not gonna be easy, but you have a shot. You’re talented, you work hard, and we’re gonna follow you,'” she said.
Willow Has Been Preparing for This Moment for Years
While Broadway may be the next chapter, Willow is already familiar with performing in front of large audiences.
She and Pink released the duet “Cover Me in Sunshine” in 2021 and have shared the stage on several occasions since then. The mother-daughter pair performed together at the Billboard Music Awards, the 2024 Democratic National Convention, on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” and during Hugh Jackman’s Radio City Music Hall residency in 2025.
Pink has also spoken proudly about Willow’s involvement in theater programs, workshops and school productions. In a recent interview with E! News, the singer said her daughter has fully embraced life in New York and is thriving as she pursues her passion.
The proud mom described Willow as hardworking, earnest and committed to improving her craft while learning the realities of the entertainment industry.
Pink said she has encouraged her daughter to be a supportive teammate, work hard and remain a good person while pursuing success.
The singer also acknowledged how fortunate her family is to be able to make such a move in support of their children.
“We show up [for our children] if we can,” she said. “And I’m lucky that we can.”
Pink Teases Big Plans for the Tony Awards
As Willow settles into her new chapter, Pink is preparing for one of her own.
The singer will host the Tony Awards on June 7 and has already hinted that viewers can expect a memorable night.
According to Billboard, Pink initially hesitated when she was asked to host because she has never performed on Broadway herself. However, Willow’s excitement about the opportunity helped convince her to accept.
The singer said her daughter was thrilled by the invitation and eager to attend the ceremony.
Pink has since embraced the role, praising Broadway performers as some of the hardest-working artists in entertainment. She also teased a massive opening number featuring approximately 170 performers and hinted that fans may even see a few acrobatic surprises.
Speaking with Extra, she joked that she plans to be as “extra and ridiculous” as possible throughout the evening, adding that multiple outfit changes are also in the works.
For Pink, the upcoming ceremony represents more than just a hosting gig. As her family settles into life in New York, Broadway has become a shared passion, and one that started with Willow.
“It’s your turn, we’ll follow you.”
