After Sunday’s scary incident in which Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home was struck by gunfire several times while she was inside, officers heroically coordinated to capture the fleeing suspect, who was armed with an AR-15 style weapon per the L.A. Times, after the white Tesla from which the shots came sped away.
The suspect had shot at the home Rihanna shares with A$AP Rocky around 10 times before driving away and ending up near the Sherman Oaks Galleria.
On the recording, a voice can be heard saying, “A shooting just occurred. The vehicle is a white Tesla, Model 3.” Soon after, someone says the vehicle is possibly “southbound of Woodcliff,” referring to a residential road near the Beverly Hills border.
Another says they are “verifying plates” but the car is “dirty on the bottom, which matches the suspect’s vehicle description.” The call continued, “Suspect driver was a female with blonde hair.”
A few seconds later, officers say they are “following the suspect’s vehicle.” Next, “They’re making a right turn into the mall parking lot into the Regal, and they’re gonna be at the right side.”
Another voice jumps in to warn, “Now be advised, this is a good shooting suspect.” The communications continued, “Driver is out on his feet. Her. They’re approaching the vehicle now.” The audio concludes with someone announcing, “One suspect in custody.” Fortunately, no one was harmed before the apparent shooter was captured.

County DA Nathan Hochman told the media, “Rihanna was there with her partner, her three children, her mother, and two staff people, representing 8 of the 10 counts dealing with an assault with a semiautomatic weapon.”
Along with one count of attempted murder and 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, Ortiz was charged with three counts of “shooting at at inhabited dwelling or camper.” Ortiz’s next court date will be an arraignment on Wednesday, March 25.
DA Says Suspect Fired at House of Rihanna’s Neighbor
“Ms. Ortiz is accused of firing at a neighboring residence that had two additional individuals. That is why there are 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm,” the Hochman explained, before going on to discuss the 3 counts of shooting at inhabited dwellings.
He said, “There are actually two dwellings at Rihanna’s residence. There’s an airstream camper, in which two individuals were located, as well as a house on that property. And then there’s the neighboring property.”
