Sabrina Carpenter has been named “Variety’s” 2025 Hitmaker of the Year. The singer will be honored with an award at their ninth annual Hitmakers celebration, an event that honors the artists, songwriters, and producers behind each year’s most popular songs. After the commercial and critical success of her Grammy award winning album “Short n’ Sweet,” Carpenter’s seventh studio album “Man’s Best Friend” continues her chart-topping streak. The album was led by the single “Manchild,” which was nominated at the 2025 VMAs for song of the summer. When the album was released, it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart and amassed over 180 million streams in the U.S. within the first week.

The “Espresso” singer recently headlined the Austin City Limits Music Festival on October 4 and is set to perform again on October 11 during the second weekend of the festival.
Carpenter also made her Grand Ole Opry debut on October 7 in Nashville. The singer even acknowledged her devoted fans in the caption of her Instagram post. She wrote, “thank you to my amazing fans who came out and for the Opry frequenters that opened me with welcome ears and hearts :’) I’m a lucky girl!”
The North American tour supporting her “Short n’ Sweet” album begins on October 23 and includes a five nights in a row at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden as well as five nights at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Carpenter is also set to headline the Coachella music festival April 2026 along with Justin Bieber and Karol G.
If all of that wasn’t impressive enough, Carpenter has also been making big moves off-stage, like being on the cover of “Rolling Stones” in their July/August 2025 issue.

Previous “Variety” Hitmakers of the Year include some of the most best artists working today, such as Charli xcx, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Jack Harlow, Elton John, and Dua Lipa, making this an incredible honor for Carpenter.

The “Variety” Hitmakers Award 2025 will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Los Angeles. More honorees will be announced in the coming weeks.
