While fans of Shawn Mendes might still not be over his split from “Señorita” collaborator Camilla Cabello, the “Lost in Japan” singer has a new woman in his life. Since December 2025, Mendes has been dating 30-year-old Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine.
Together, they have been photographed all over the world, from spending New Year’s in Marquezine’s home country of Brazil, enjoying Brazil’s iconic carnival in February, and going on a casual walk in Malibu this week, per Page Six. 1. Bruna Marquezine Was a Child Actor
GettyWhile Marquezine might be new to American audiences, she’s been a staple in Brazil’s entertainment industry for over two decades. At just five years old, she landed her first acting gig starring in a commercial that received country-wide attention.
After that, she continued her acting career in TV shows and Brazilian telenovelas. In 2003, she became one of the country’s biggest rising stars for her role as Selete in the telenovela “Mulheres Apaixonadas.”
Since then, she starred in countless telenovelas, including “I Love Paraisópolis,” “Aquele Beijo” and “Deus Salve o Rei.”
2. Bruna Marquezine Has Starred in a Hollywood Movie
GettyAfter making it big in Brazil, Marquezine dipped her toes into building an international career for herself in 2023. She starred as the love interest Jenny Kord in “Blue Beetle,” a DC superhero movie starring Xolo Maridueña as the title character.
She also starred in the Netflix series “Maldives” in 2022, as well as the Disney+ “Benefits with Friends,” which is currently in post-production for a second season.
3. Bruna Marquezine Is a Model and Brand Ambassador
In addition to her sprawling acting career, Marquezine has been a spokesperson and brand ambassador for countless brands over the years, in Brazil and beyond. Some of her partner brands include YSL Beauty, Kérastase, Omoda & Jaecoo, Hering, and Guaraná Antarctica.
4. She’s a Red Carpet Veteran
GettyOf course, with years working in the entertainment industry, Marquezine has become a pro at attending red carpet events. Over the years, she’s snagged an invite to many A-list events in the US, including attending her first Met Gala in 2024 alongside Tory Burch.
She also attended the Academy Awards in 2025 and 2026. At yesterday’s event, she turned heads in a glittering custom Gucci gown.
5. She and Shawn Mendes Met in 2017 and Reconnected in 2025
While full details about their relationship has been kept private, Marquezine and Mendes reportedly met for the first time in 2017. They first connected backstage of Rock in Rio, a music festival in Rio de Janeiro where Mendes was headlining, and followed each other on Instagram.
Fast forward a few years, the pair reportedly reconnected when Mendes performed in Brazil once again at the Lollapalooza festival in São Paulo in March 2025. In October, they were spotted enjoying Dua Lipa’s concert side by side.
Since then, the pair has been spotted packing on PDA in Los Angeles and in Brazil. Looks like there’s another power couple in Hollywood.
