An unusual post from the Spice Girls‘ official Instagram account is causing an uproar with fans.
The cryptic video offers a series of clues pointing to a big announcement set to happen on September 10 — and has sparked rumors that the women will reveal they’re reuniting in some fashion to mark the 30th anniversary of the group’s debut album, “Spice,” which was released in November 1996.
A Mysterious Post
The video begins in a setting that should prove familiar to fans — the same steps upon which Sporty, Ginger, Posh, Scary and Baby danced in the music video for their breakout hit single “Wannabe.”
As the camera pans in closer, viewers see a copy of British showbiz trade newspaper, The Stage.
Pulling in even closer reveals an ad within the newspaper.
“R U a Spice Girls fan with the ability to sing and dance?” the ad reads.
“R U a superfan, a collector, a music lover? Spice Girls are a widely successful, global, choreographed, singing/dancing all female pop act with a record nine number ones in the UK and over 100 million global sales,” the copy in the ad continues.
“No sheet music required. But you will need a vinyl or CD player,” the advertisement concludes, “
The time of this appointment: September 10 at 2 p.m. U.K. time.
What Could It Mean?
The Spice Girls’ first single, “Wannabe,” dropped in July 2026, with Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice) paying tribute to her fellow Spice Girls — Geri Horner (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Mel B (Scary Spce) and Melanie C (Sporty Spice) — on that anniversary.
Examining the clues in that newspaper advert, the bit of about “vinyl or CD player” could indicate the upcoming release of a special reissue of the group’s 1996 debut album.
Meanwhile, the phone number listed in the ad includes the numerical sequence “061126” — which some fans are interpreting as a date, November 6, 2026.
While some of the women have previously gone on record as saying there will definitely not be a reunion tour this year, fans are nevertheless wondering if the cryptic video could be pointing to something else, perhaps a one-off reunion performance.
“ITS HAPPENING!!!!” wrote one of the group’s social media followers in the comments.
“Keep an eye out, could be tickets,” read another comment.
Meanwhile, other commenters suggested more specific plans could be in the offing.
“SPICE WORLD the musical!?” pondered one fan.
“Sphere residency,” wrote another, guessing the five women could be ready to announce their own Las Vegas residence at the Sphere.
“I need a tour and new music,” wrote another, while one fan added, “What’s this?! If it’s a tour WE ARE GOING!”
Could a Tour Happen?
(Photo by Vinnie Zuffante/Getty Images)The Spice Girls’ former manager, Chris Herbert, shared his thoughts on a potential reunion tour with Betway.
“Personally, I’d only want to see it if all five of them were on stage together. I wouldn’t want to see four of them or three of them; their legacy deserves all five members,” he said, but seemed dubious that Beckham would take part.
“Looking at what Victoria has achieved, though, she’s done something remarkable. She’s managed to establish herself in the fashion industry, which is notoriously difficult. People don’t usually take pop stars seriously when they move into luxury fashion, but she’s proved everyone wrong. I honestly don’t know why she’d want to put that at risk for a reunion,” he said.
“As much as I’d love to see all five of them together again, I struggle to see it happening. I’d be delighted to be proved wrong, but I just can’t see it,” he added. “They’re all incredibly busy. They’re not sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring.”
