Taylor Momsen is recovering after a frightening reaction to a spider bite that led to urgent medical care during her tour. The former “Gossip Girl” star shared the experience with fans last week, posting a backstage video of doctors treating her as she performed alongside AC/DC.
“So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit…this time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me, and its venom did a number on my system, so I had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night…add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl?” she wrote at the time.
Momsen Describes Venomous Spider Bite That Required Urgent Care
Days later, Momsen returned to social media with a more serious update, revealing that the bite had worsened.
GettyShe posted a photo showing increased irritation on her leg. She wrote, “Hospital today, show tomorrow, poisonous spiders are NO BUENO, but the show must go on, see you tomorrow, Mexico City!”
Within hours, her condition appeared to escalate further.
“Or I just spend the night in the hospital…thank you to the amazing doctors who, well, they know,” she shared alongside images from her hospital stay, including one where she held an ice pack to her head and another showing the aggravated bite.

Momsen’s recent health scare arrived nearly a year after an unforgettable onstage incident involving a bat in June 2024.
During a performance with The Pretty Reckless, while opening for AC/DC, she noticed an animal attached to her leg midway through the show.
“There’s a [Expletives] flying bat on my leg right now, can someone help me please?” she told the audience, as reported by US Sun.
Crew members rushed to her side as the moment unfolded, and she later laughed it off. Momsen was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for bite marks and underwent a full rabies vaccination course.
Even with these challenges, she has remained committed to her tour, continuing to perform as fans send messages of support and recovery.
