Taylor Swift Dodges Awkward Run-In With Famous Ex at Concert

Taylor Swift narrowly missed an awkward run-in with her ex-boyfriend, John Mayer, at Paul McCartney’s concert on Saturday.

In photos shared by TMZ, Swift, 36, and Mayer, 48, were seen separately talking to guests outside The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.

The “Opalite” singer briefly chatted with Olivia Rodrigo, while the “Gravity” crooner mingled with other guests.

It remains unclear whether the former couple crossed paths inside the venue, but both appeared to be in good spirits during the star-studded event.

Swift later left the venue from a different exit than Mayer, dodging what could’ve been an awkward moment, according to the outlet.

Taylor Swift and John Mayer were first linked in 2009, when the latter expressed interest in collaborating with the “Blank Space” singer.

The two later released “Half of My Heart,” which was featured on Mayer’s album, “Battle Studies.”

In January 2010, Swift and Mayer were spotted dining together, but months later, rumors emerged that their romance had fizzled out.

By October 2010, Swift dropped her hit track, “Dear John,” which is rumored to be about Mayer.

Mayer reacted to Swift’s track in a 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, saying it made him feel “terrible.”

“I’m retty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do,” the singer said at the time. “I never got an email. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”

Swift clapped back at Mayer’s comments, saying it was “presumptuous” of him to assume the song was about him.

“How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about,” Swift told Glamour in 2012 (via Billboard).

Paul McCartney’s Star-Studded Concert

The Beatles legend performed some of his solo hits, as well as the band’s classics.

Some of the celebrities in attendance included Al Pacino, Harrison Ford, Sharon Osbourne, Steve Carell, Steven Tyler, Billie Eilish, Christina Aguilera, Gayle King, Julianne Hough, Owen Wilson, Queen Latifah, Sabrina Carpenter, and more.

The legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Starr also made a cameo to watch McCartney, according to TMZ.
