Yesterday Travis Barker released his brand new documentary, “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear”, which delves vulnerably into all sorts of topics from his personal struggles to surviving a plane crash and his Blink-182 days. But something surprising to fans that Travis talked about was an ex wife he married when he was really young, and it isn’t Shanna Moakler who people know about.
This lucky lady was only 19 years old when she tied the knot with Travis, and their marriage isn’t very known about because it lasted for less than a year before ending in divorce.
Who Is Travis’ Lesser Known Ex Wife?
GettyLong before Travis met and married Kourtney Kardashian, and even before he wed ex Shanna Moakler, there was another former flame named Melissa Kennedy. The pair fell head over heels when Travis was in his mid-20s, though heavy touring during the beginning of his Blink-182 career in the early 2000s is what Travis said pulled him and Melissa in separate directions.
Travis married Melissa on 2001 at the Mission Inn in Riverside. He even got a tattoo inking out her name on his neck, which he later covered over with an image of a rose.
Speaking briefly about the relationship in his documentary, Travis shared: “I was touring with Blink non-stop. It was tough, especially since I was married at the time. I kind of realized that the relationship wasn’t working out for either of us anymore.”
Travis noted that the relationship came crashing down with a “huge blowout” as life just kept getting “crazier and crazier” for him, and Melissa told him to go back to L.A and do his thing. By that same summer, Travis had began seeing ex wife Shanna Moakler.
In Travis’ 205 memoir “Can I Say” he made another rare comment about his marriage to Melissa, though it was a sad one. He penned how he felt like he was making a mistake walking down the aisle, and how his bachelor do was very much not PG and starred around 20 strippers. Travis said he vowed to be faithful once he actually got married and he stuck to that, though the relationship didn’t end up lasting.
Travis’ Relationship Today
GettyTravis is married to Kourtney Kardashian and the pair appear to be as loved up as ever. The pair tied the knot in May of 2022 after dating for just over a year. However they had been friends for a little while beforehand.
Travis and Kourtney share one biological child together, a son called Rocky Thirteen who they welcomed in November 2023. However, they each have children from their previous relationships who are part of their larger, blended family dynamic.
Kourtney has three children with former flame Scott Disick – Mason who was born in 2009, Penelope who was born in 2012, and Reign who was born in 2014. Meanwhile Travis has two children with ex Shanna Moakler – Landon who was born in 2003, and Alabama who was born in 2005, as well as Atiana who is his stepdaughter who was born in 1999.
