“Emily in Paris” star Lucas Bravo was nearly arrested in what turned out to be a moment he can laugh about now.
Lucas Bravo Was Nearly Arrested Inside His Home
Bravo laughed as he recalled the moment armed police officers broke into his house, believing he had a dead body inside.
“So basically, I shot a movie two years ago called ‘The Balkanets,’ and went to Cannes, super great, like super rewarding,” he began during the Thursday, January 22, episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” “In the movie, I get, spoiler alert, I get pushed from a balcony and impaled on a photo stick or something. And in order to shoot that scene with my dead body, for a couple weeks, we needed to recreate me as a wax doll from Madame Tussauds.”
After months in storage, production reached out to Bravo asking if he wanted possession of his was look-alike, because it was “scaring off every person in the office.”
“I was like, ‘Ah, I don’t know.’ How often do you get—it’s not even egotistical—how often do you get a double of you made?” Bravo continued. “And I was like, ‘I’m sure I can do something with it. It’s almost Halloween, I can drop it in the sand…'”
The would-be fun holiday decor caused quite the commotion after a woman who visited Bravo’s house for a Japanese lesson fell down the stairs after being spooked by the wax body double.
“And I’m like, ‘What have I done?’ And I just forget about it…I go to bed and at 3:00 a.m., knock on the door, and I open the door, and like four police officers with the guns out, and they push me against the wall, like handcuff me,” Bravo recalled. “And I hear like, ‘Murder, murder, like, dead body.'”
He continued, “One of them said, ‘The body’s still warm.'”
Bravo, still handcuffed against the wall, explained to the officers, “It’s a fake,” adding that he’s “in the movie industry.”
Clarkson, still in shock, remarked, “This is the craziest story!”
All’s well that ends well as Bravo learned his lesson and can look back and laugh at the experience.
“But you should never have a double of yourself anywhere.”
Lucas Bravo Disposed of the ‘Body’
GettyThe next day, Bravo enlisted a friend’s help to dispose of the body. The men wrapped the wax figure in a blanket and loaded it into the back of a truck.
Clearly not the best way to get rid of a fake body, as police arrived again!
“So basically someone called from the street saying like, they’re kidnapping someone against his will,” he laughed.
