When & Where to Watch the Upcoming Martin Short Documentary

Martin Short remains one of the most talked-about names in Hollywood, partly thanks to his role on Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.” Now, there’s a new documentary about his life and career set to premiere later this year.

Martin Short is Among the Latest Celebrities With a Documentary

Short has been active in Hollywood since the early 1970s and remains quite busy today. Because of this, he’s the perfect subject for an in-depth documentary. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, “Marty, Life is Short,” will arrive on Netflix on May 12.

Lawrence Kasdan directed the upcoming documentary, which will feature interviews with “some of the most established and beloved stars” and archival footage. The producers behind the Netflix documentary are Sara Bernstein, Meredith Kaulfers, Christopher St. John, Justin Wilkes, Kasdan, and Blair Foster.

Regarding the director, Kasdan, people will know him for films such as “The Big Chill and “Body Heat.” He has also written movies like “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “The Bodyguard,” and various Star Wars films, including “The Last Jedi.”

In additon to his Netflix documentary premiering in May, Hulu has renewed the ever-popular ‘Only Murders in the Building’ for its sixth season. Per Deadline, the season will feature the cast in London and will consist of 10 episodes.

John Hoffman, the co-creator of the series, told the outlet, “London is New York’s sister city. There will be all sorts of connectors. We will take our storytelling and steep it into this new culture, and our trio will be fish in new waters.”

Hoffman also confirmed that the full season will take place in London. Short spoke to Deadline in 2025, and they asked if he was surprised by the show’s success.

He said, “I think, certainly, a fifth season in streaming is very unusual these days, but I don’t think any of us thought that way. Steve and I are from the movies also, so we were thinking, “Oh, maybe it’s just going to be one great season.” We were just hoping that it would be interesting. So you go from episode to episode, then suddenly there are 10 episodes, and you have a season.

Then you’re renewed, so you do it again. Obviously, you don’t want a show to go up and down, but you’re so invested in where you are right now, it’s hard to get a perspective on it. But certainly, objectively, I can look at it and say, ‘This is our fifth season — that’s amazing.’ And not expected.”

Hulu hasn’t revealed when the series will return for season six.
