Beloved ‘Breaking Bad’ Star Had Fans Begging for More with Rare Appearance

Anna Gunn surprised Emmy viewers by revisiting her “Breaking Bad” roots during the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. The 57-year-old actress starred in a Popwell commercial that aired during the ceremony, stepping back into her role as Skyler White in a playful nod to the acclaimed AMC series.

In the spot, Gunn appeared in a kitchen reminiscent of the Whites’ Albuquerque home, delivering a sly warning: “Trust me. Cooking leads to bad things, like some sodas who cook the flavor out of their ingredients. Popwell doesn’t cook. It’s cold-crafted, carefully and legally made in a cold environment.”

She closed with a wink at one of Walter White’s most iconic lines, declaring, “Say. The. Name. Popwell.”

Fans React to Gunn’s Emmy Night Surprise

It wasn’t Gunn’s first time revisiting her iconic character outside the original series. She previously voiced Skyler in a 2016 “Robot Chicken” sketch but did not appear in the spinoff “Better Call Saul” or the sequel film “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.”

Walter White’s iconic “Say my name” line got a lighter spin in a new commercial that premiered during CBS’s Emmys broadcast on Sunday night.

In the 46-second ad for beverage brand Popwell, Anna Gunn stepped back into her role as Skyler White, wandering through a kitchen styled after the show’s familiar Albuquerque home before pulling a can of Popwell’s prebiotic soda from the fridge.

The sight of Gunn back as Skyler instantly lit up social media. “Anna Gunn on my screen again OMFG Jesus literally was seen,” one fan posted. Another added, “ANNA GUNN ON SCREEN AT EMMYS?? PLURIBUS COMEBACK IS REAL!!!”

Commercial Throwbacks & Cast Reunions

More recently, the cast reunited at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards in February to present Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, honoring their 2013 win.
