‘American Horror Story’ Star Ties the Knot in Intimate Elopement

Actress Leslie Grossman and producer-writer Sascha Penn are officially married after quietly eloping and later celebrating with friends and family, according to an exclusive interview with PEOPLE.

The couple chose a small, private ceremony before hosting a larger celebration to mark the occasion, blending intimacy with a festive gathering that reflected their personalities and shared circle of friends.

Grossman Keeps Her Relationship Private

Grossman, known for her work on shows like “American Horror Story” and Penn, creator of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” have largely kept their relationship low-key, making the wedding details especially meaningful to fans.

The two ended up tying the knot back in July 2025 in Martha’s Vineyard.

The elopement was intentionally simple and heartfelt, focusing on the couple’s commitment rather than spectacle.

The couple later celebrated their marriage with an intimate dinner hosted by Ryan Murphy on New Year’s Eve.

“It was so beautiful and perfect and lovely,” Grossman recalled. “It was a really great way to welcome in the new year.”

The later celebration allowed loved ones to join in, with thoughtful touches and personal elements that honored their journey together.

Grossman added that it was Murphy who wanted the party to happen.

Ryan Murphy Threw the Party

“Ryan was like, ‘Listen, your friends and your family want to celebrate you, and I’m giving you a party and that’s that,’ which was so sweet,” she said.

The 54-year-old continued by stating she at first just wanted everything to be very low key.

“It was funny because my first instinct was, ‘Oh, let’s not make a big deal out of this,’ and if you know Ryan Murphy, he’s not someone that you say no to. And of course, because Ryan is always right, it ended up being truly one of the most special nights of our lives,” she told the outlet.

Grossman added how that Murphy was ultimately right about having the stunning event.

“Ryan was right, it’s important to celebrate with the people who love you the most,” she said.

Grossman previously shared that the two met through a dating app in early 2022 and quickly formed a strong bond.

Friends close to the couple said the ceremony was emotional but joyful, emphasizing the importance of commitment and family. Some of the guests included actresses Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor.

Grossman, who has one daughter from a previous marriage, has spoken publicly about how meaningful this chapter of her life feels after years of personal change.

Grossman and Penn became engaged after Penn proposed during a trip to Martha’s Vineyard, an event Grossman described as private and “perfect.”

Their wedding followed a similar philosophy, blending romance and authenticity.

Together, their elopement and celebration offered a reminder that even in Hollywood, love stories can be simple, sincere and deeply personal.
