Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco’s Wedding Featured a Celebrity Officiant — Find Out Who It Was!

We’ve been granted a new, delightful tidbit of info when it comes to Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s celebrity-filled wedding. When the pair got married on September 27, 2025, during a ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, it turns out that someone special was acting as the bride and groom’s officiant.

Since the big day, the couple has “kept most details about their ultra-private ceremony under wraps,” People noted. However, “[d]uring Blanco’s Thursday, Feb. 26, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! alongside Lil Dicky, 37, to promote their new podcast, Friends Keep Secrets, he revealed that the rapper, who was born David Burd, was his wedding officiant.”

In a sweet coincidence, both Blanco and Burd — who are friends as well as collaborators — got married last year and were there at the two events to help celebrate each other and their wives.

While talking about the pair of weddings on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Burd said that they were “the best nights of our lives.”

“We were heavily involved [in each other’s weddings],” Burd also said. “We didn’t each have a best man, but I officiated his and he gave the speech from like my male point of view at my wedding, and it was great.”

In fact, during the interview, Blanco added, “It was incredible. Unbelievable.”

In Burd’s role as officiant of Gomez and Blanco’s wedding, he had to deliver a speech. While he was able to tackle the important task, an unexpected issue popped up before the ceremony even took place.

“As Blanco and Burd were getting ready for Blanco’s big day, Gomez called her now-husband to ask the ‘Freaky Friday’ singer to remove any parts of his officiant speech that overlapped with topics mentioned in her vows,” according to People.

During Blanco’s chat on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” he recalled, “She said, ‘Hey, just make sure Dave doesn’t say anything about this part or this part because it’s part of my speech.’ And that was the whole opening three minutes of his speech.”

“I wanted to push back, but it was her wedding,” Burd added as a joke.

Overcoming the hiccup, Burd says the speech “really turned out great.” He added, “I’m very proud of myself.”
