Sydney Sweeney pulled off a daring stunt by scaling the iconic Hollywood Sign and draping it with bras.
In a video shared on Instagram, Sweeney and her team can be seen loading a van with black duffel bags filled with bras before driving up toward the hillside beneath the famous landmark.
The “Christy” star and her production crew made their way to the top of what appears to be the letter “H.” She then strung up a clothesline of bras across the sign, seemingly pleased with her handiwork.
Sydney Sweeney Takes Her Promotional Strategy Up a Notch
As for why she did it, sources told TMZ that it’s part of the promotional strategy for her new lingerie line, SYRN. Sweeney’s newest venture is reportedly backed by Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez.
In July, Us Weekly reported that the power couple had “invested” in Sweeney’s lingerie line, which “has been a huge project for her and something she’s been working on for the last year.”
The outlet also noted that the business relationship might explain why the “White Lotus” star was at Bezos’ and Sanchez’s lavish wedding in Italy, despite having no prior known connection to the couple.
Sydney Sweeney Might Be In Trouble
Meanwhile, Sweeney’s racy act might have gotten her in trouble with the law. According to TMZ, the “Euphoria” star got a permit from FilmLA to film at the Hollywood sign, but she did not have permission to touch or climb the sign itself.
The outlet also reached out to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and learned that they would file a police report for vandalism and/or trespass.
“We are still investigating how and under what authority (if any) the Sweeney production accessed the site of the Sign,” the Chamber told TMZ.
The bras were taken down after the shoot, but they reportedly left behind 4 or 5.
Sweeney’s daring stunt sparked mixed reactions online. While many applauded her boldness, others voiced criticism.
One fan wrote, “This promo deserves huge BRAvo,” while another chimed in, “This is iconic.”
Someone commented, “It’s funny seeing other people get mad at this when this was first reported. There’s bigger things to worry about than Sydney and her group doing this.”
Meanwhile, a commenter noted, “This is literally vandalism and trespassing. Why would you post this?”
Another added, “Isn’t this illegal?” and someone wrote, “Embarrassing, honestly.”
