Sydney Sweeney turned 28 years old on September 12, per People, and she marked the occasion by spending some time swimming and exploring a stunning area. Along with photos that she shared on Instagram two days later and first saw the star in a sleek black swimsuit, the caption read: “little trip to mars.”
In her first photo, the actress can be seen standing on a large, flat rock and is surrounded by water. In the distance is a landscape that certainly looks like it could be the surface of another planet. Other photos showed Sweeney in a white swimsuit as she enjoyed the day with friends exploring the area. That’s not to mention the sparkly gold two-piece swimsuit that she wore in a couple of pics.
Sweeney’s followers seemed to love what they were seeing and wanted to send their well wishes to the star. One left a comment on the Instagram post, writing, “Happy Birthday, beautiful special woman! 🌹🥳🎉”
“Amazing pics 😍😍😍,” another person wrote. Someone else added, “Beautiful pictures Sydney! 😍”
Even Lauren Sánchez Bezos left a comment with a simple red heart emoji.
Fans Guessed Sweeney Was Celebrating at Lake Powell
GettySweeney may have playfully claimed that she was on Mars, however, people in her comments were pretty sure that she was, in fact, at Lake Powell. One person asked, “Hey is this Lake Powell? I grew up near there and have been there…. Just curious.”
“It’s not mars it’s lake powell,” someone else noted. A third person wrote, “Lake Powell is such a beautiful place!! ❤️”
A body of water that stretches between Utah and Arizona, it offers both fun activities and incredible scenery.

Sweeney Has Talked About the ‘Older Version’ of Herself

Indeed, when it comes to aging, Sweeney wants to make sure that she can continue to look back over the years that have passed and be happy about what she sees and what she’s accomplished. That’s all while looking forward at her future self.
“I look up to the older version of myself. When I was 10, I looked up to the 25-year-old version of myself, and now I look up to my 50-year-old version,” she told Women’s Health in November 2023.
She added, “I hope I make the decisions she would be proud of.”
