Reality TV wouldn’t be the same without the “Real Housewives” franchise. For almost 20 years, they have taken over Bravo. During those almost 20 years, Andy Cohen has delivered on some unforgettable TV viewing. From the drama and catchphrases to the feuds that make headlines.
While the network seems to give some of these franchises all the benefits and opportunities, it seems like others don’t have the same opportunities to shine. Fans think some of these franchises have been cancelled too soon. Check out our pics below of the “Real Housewives” cities that have been cancelled too soon.
1. ‘The Real Housewives of D.C.’
Of all the “Real Housewives” franchises out there, “The Real Housewives of D.C.” happens to be the one with the shortest amount of time on air. It may have only lasted one season, but it still gave fans a chance to see how these ladies were going to operate.
The drama was there, and fans seemed interested. However, Bravo did not renew the show for a second season. Many viewers think this franchise had some huge potential. It was a mix of social climbing, elite power circles, and politics. “RHODC” gave viewers a different approach to things.
The show gave us a mix of social climbing, elite power circles, and politics. This made “RHODC” different from the other franchises. However, Bravo couldn’t look past that scandal, and the show came to an end during the first season.
2. ‘The Real Housewives of Dallas’
In 2016, “The Real Housewives of Dallas” made its debut. Fans got plenty of tension, Texas-sized wealth, and well-known characters in this edition.
Five seasons of “RHOD” provided us with great one-liners, tense charity circuit scenes, and emotional friendships. Although the show developed a devoted following, it was eventually canceled in 2021.
Given that newer Housewives towns were gaining new traction, viewers thought the women still had more to offer. The prospect of Dallas returning with a different cast or a different direction is still discussed among fans.
3. ‘The Real Housewives of Johannesburg’
The powers that be decided to bring things international with “The Real Housewives of Johannesburg.” We got to see bold fashion, lavish lifestyles, and bitter rivalries on our television screens.
A bumpy ride for “Real Housewives of Johannesburg,” as production was stopped during the third season. An altercation took place between two of the housewives, causing production to step in and put a stop to recording.
You can’t gain a big fan base when the schedule is so inconsistent, right? After the third season aired in 2023, Bravo cancelled it again. Now there are talks going around that they are casting for season 4.
4. ‘The Real Housewives of Miami’
The last franchise is “The Real Housewives of Miami,” which premiered in 2011. This is another one of those franchises that has endured a bumpy road.
While the housewives were delivering the drama and glamour, production was seeing some big moments, especially during the reunion episodes. However, Bravo decided to put a pause on “RHOM” after three seasons.
Fans campaigned for its return, and it finally happened in December 2021. A lot of the original cast did return, but is it the same as it was back then? It’s making it work this go round, with season 7 wrapping up in 2025.
As “RHOM” proved, never say never. These shows may have been cancelled or paused, but it doesn’t mean they won’t be back. Which franchise would you like to see make a comeback?

The only one I followed was Real Housewives of Miami.
Never heard of the others 🤷♀️
