Fans are calling Season 17 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” an exciting shakeup. One Housewife in particular has viewers glued to their screens and is the country music sensation, K. Michelle.
During a podcast with former ‘RHOA’ producer, Carlos King, Claudia Jordan made her opinion very clear: K. Michelle is the star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
It may sound far-fetched to some longtime fans of the franchise, but the former Atlanta Housewife had plenty of receipts to back up her claim.
Claudia Jordan Puts Her ‘Bid In” for K. Michelle as the Star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”
On the “Reality is King” podcast with Carlos King, Dustin Ross, and Jazmine Henley Brown, Claudia Jordan gave her behind-the-scenes perspective of how ‘RHOA’ Season 17 is going. When the topic became storylines and who has the most “star power” this season, another host gave the title to veteran Porsha Williams.
But Jordan made it plain that K. Michelle has been the reality show’s star. She said,
“I’m going to go ahead and put my bid on K. Michelle as the star of the show,” recalling the different layers and levels Michelle has given in just one episode.
She noted her peacemaker role between Kelli and Porsha as well as her banter with Charles Oakley without being flirty. She also commended her for “knowing when to leave the room” when an issue has nothing to do with her.
Acknowledging her star power as an acclaimed singer and songwriter and her stunning confessional looks, Jordan added,
“…in every single scene, she’s killing it.”
From the Stage to the Screen: Why Fans are Loving K. Michelle
Born Kimberly Michelle Pate, K. Michelle exploded onto the music scene with her single “Fallin” in 2010. In the middle of an award-winning career as a singer, the Memphis native made her reality tv debut on VH1’s “Love & Hip-hop: Atlanta,” where she became an immediate standout.
Compared to other cast members, Jordan praised Michelle for her true authenticity in bringing viewers into her life. The talk show host maintained that other storylines have been “a waste of a salary” because of the shallow nature of the details they’ve shared.
As an example, Jordan praised K. Michelle for sharing her vulnerable experience with plastic surgery. She asserted,
“That is someone that is willing to really be a reality star and show us levels, not just the good… the other girls have to bring it.”
Who do you pick for the star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta?” Is it too early to call? One thing is certain and that is we will be tuned in to see how it plays out.
