Cynthia Bailey has opened up about being “heartbroken” after the death of her close friend, fashion designer and celebrity stylist Kithe Brewster.
GettyKithe designed the unforgettable silver gown Cynthia wore to marry her ex-husband, Peter Thomas, on the “RHOA” season 3 finale back in 2010.
TMZ says the stylist, whose resume of clients included Beyonce, Celine Dion, Julianne Moore, and Drew Barrymore, among many other celebrities, passed away at the age of 60 the week of May 3, 2026. His cause of death has not been specified.
Cynthia Bailey Speaks Out After the Loss of Kithe Brewster
Cynthia, who wrapped up her long run as a peach holder on “RHOA” with season 13 in 2021 and continues to make appearances as a friend, shared a tribute to Kithe on her Instagram Stories which read, “So many unforgettable memories. I miss you already. Will never forget you Kithe. Rest in peace my brother.” The 59-year-old model emphasized her mournful message with a dove emoji.
TMZ says she spoke more about Kithe in an interview with the outlet, saying, “He was more than just an incredible fashion designer, he was family to me, like a brother. He was truly a visionary and so far ahead of his time creatively.”
The interview goes on, “He always encouraged me to embrace my individuality and never be afraid to take risks with my style. I trusted his vision completely because he had such a special gift. Beyond his talent, he was kind, loving, supportive, and deeply loyal to the people he cared about.”
They say she added, “His creativity and influence will never be forgotten,” before finishing with, “I’m grateful I was able to stand by his side as a friend throughout the years, especially during the times he needed love and support the most. I will miss him deeply, and I pray he is finally at peace.”
Although the final part of her comments suggests Kithe was going through some type of turmoil, the interview does not elaborate on what it might have been.

Cynthia Bailey brought plenty of romantic intrigue as a “RHOA” cast member, getting married two separate times. She divorced her first husband, entrepreneur Peter Thomas, in 2017 after separating the prior year, and wed Fox 1 sports broadcaster Mike Hill in 2020. The couple settled their divorce less than two years later.
After stunning for her first wedding in Brewster’s unforgettable silver creation, Cynthia went a more traditional route for wedding number two, choosing a nude sequined look with an ornate veil.
Cynthia told People after finalizing her divorce from Hill that she was feeling a mixture of “happy” and “sad.” She explained the split was sparked by a feeling that “we weren’t friends anymore.”
She elaborated, “This is not my first rodeo. I think friendship just has to be there in a marriage. Like, love is great, but friendship has to be there. I truly want to be with my best friend.”
Cynthia is now linked to 39-year-old Dutch reggae artist LePrince.
