Kandi Burruss took to the skies on Tuesday, January 7 to head back to New York City, and received a surprising blessing when she stepped onto the plane. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” all-star was returning to the city to continue her run as Juliet’s nurse, Angélique, in the Broadway show “& Juliet” after a quick stop in the A to celebrate the birthday of her son, Ace.
Kandi, who has been embroiled in a divorce with her husband Todd Tucker since late November, said in an Instagram Story the same day that when as soon as she boarded, a flight attendant started to pray.

She began by telling her fans, “So I’m back in New York getting ready for the show tonight, and I just wanted to say, you know what? I’m excited! Excited for everything that is to come. This morning when I got on the plane, one of the flight attendants came over and started praying over me.”
She went on, “She was thanking me for a lot of the things that I’ve done to help inspire people, but then she was like, ‘No weapon formed against you will prosper.’ People say that all the time, but when she said it this morning, she almost brought tears to my eyes. I was feeling real emotional for some reason when she said.”
Kandi concluded, “Thank you for praying over me. I received it! And it really brightened my day.” She then told her followers, “Alright y’all, have a great day.”
Kandi Burruss & Todd Tucker’s Divorce Recap So Far
Kandi and Todd tied the knot on April 4, 2014 in a lavish wedding that was featured in the final episode of a five-episode Bravo miniseries, “Kandi’s Wedding.”
People says the Xscape co-founder exclusively told them she filed for divorce from Todd on Friday, November 21.
In an Amazon Live stream the following Monday, Kandi opened up about how she was feeling, saying, “I am up and down.” A clip from the stream was shared on X by Block Topickz.
A few days after the divorce was announced, Kandi revealed on her Instagram that the exes had spent Thanksgiving together with their kids. Although he was absent from the family photo, Kandi assured fans Todd was “not left out.”
On December 1, Us Weekly reported they learned Kandi’s filings had proposed joint custody, but Todd responded by requesting primary custody, citing the fact that “the children are currently in his care and residing with him in Georgia, while Burruss, 49, handles “out-of-state work obligations.”
On December 25, Kandi and Todd posed together with their kids and guests for a group Christmas photo. The exes also recently came together to attend birthday parties for the two kids they share. Their daughter Blaze turned 6 in late November, and their son, Ace, turned 10 in January.
