Lisa Rinna Shares Surprising New Detail About Her RHOBH Exit

Lisa Rinna shared new details about her shocking exit from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in 2023.

In an excerpt from her upcoming tell-all, “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It,” the Bravo TV veteran, who most recently appeared on the Peacock’s “The Traitors,” revealed that her social media opinions got her into trouble with the network, further fueling her decision to quit RHOBH after eight seasons.

“I’ve gotten into so much trouble for expressing myself,” Rinna, 62, stated in her memoir, via an audiobook clip posted by entertainment journalist Gibson Johns on TikTok. “I’ve literally been fined $50,000 by Bravo for opening my mouth and unleashing impulsive opinions on Instagram. That’s one reason why, after eight years clawing my way to the top of RHOBH, I decided to leave the show,” she added.

Rinna previously told People magazine that she planned to tell her whole truth in her book. “I don’t know if everyone is ready for all of the truth I am unloading in this book. But I was certainly ready to tell it,” she teased.

Part of her truth was about her decision to leave RHOBH.

“Listen, I had a great time,” she shared in her book. “It was really only the last year that sucked.  Before that there had been a lot of laughs, so many great stories, and many epic moments with these ladies. It was a good time, until it wasn’t.”

In a February 2026 appearance on Sirius XM’s “The Julia Cunningham Show,” Rinna noted that her alleged 2022 off-camera argument with co-star Kathy Hilton in Aspen contributed to her exit from the show.

After Hilton’s publicist entered the mix, she knew trouble was brewing, so she decided to quit before she was fired. “Nobody fought to have me stay. So I think it was very mutual at the end of the day, Rinna said.

Another reason Rinna’s final RHOBH season was so difficult was because filming began while she was still processing the death of her mother.

“You know my mother had passed away, and you know, truth be told, I should have taken a moment and not maybe done that year and just done the grieving and not done the show,” she  admitted on Sirius XM’s “Jeff Lewis Live.” “I think that was where I made a mistake. …I was not in a headspace to do it. …So, it was a really, really difficult ending to that chapter. I was in a lot of pain, and I’m totally different now.”

  1. Oh please Lisa. OWN IT
Stop with the damn excuses. Your behavior towards Denise really showed the snake that you are. Who treats a friend of 20 YEARS that way?
And your baseless accusations regarding Kathy Hilton were vile and disgusting. You kept repeating it over and over and over. It was unnecessary and mean spirited. As sad as it was to hear of your mothers passing it isn’t a get out of jail card for rude behavior. Your exit was the best thing that happened on RHOBH
    Good riddance

    • Totally agree. Didn’t matter that LVP was still in Morning with her brother and mother. But ya’ll seen blood like sharks and pounced on her. Just wanted her off the show. She is and always will be Beverly Hills. So glad you are gone. You quit, because you were going to be fired. GOODBYE RINNA!!!!

  2. Excuses and blame. I understand the loss of Mother and we all grieve differently, however, we didn’t see any change in her. She was her usual backstabbing, selfish, mean spirited, rally the bullies person she always was. She is a toxic person.
