‘RHOA’: Shamea Morton Weighs In on Porsha Williams Fallout & Season 17 Cast Relationships

Shamea Morton is opening up about her evolving role on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” reflecting on past friendships, current tensions and her journey into a full-time cast member.

After previously appearing as a “friend of” on the series, Morton is stepping into her own in her sophomore season as a peach holder. She told the “Gabbing with Gibs” podcast that in season 17 she is focused on being unapologetically herself.

Shamea Morton Reflects on Porsha Williams Fallout

Morton addressed her highly publicized fallout with former best friend Porsha Williams, emphasizing the real-life impact of their fractured friendship.

“It’s almost like when you’re in a relationship. When you break up with someone it’s not overnight,” she explained. “This is a childhood friendship that was not for TV. It was my real life. Showcasing it on TV and it ending up playing out like it did… it was a lot to digest.”

Despite the emotional toll, Morton shared that she is now in a better place. “Now I’m great. I’m happy. I’m in a great space. Life is good. God is good. I’m happy,” she said. She added that while fans have expressed sadness over the end of their friendship, she has found peace and built new connections. I’m enjoying where I am in this season and I’ve made some really great friendships outside of that.”

Shamea Morton Hints at Tension With Drew Sidora ‘Yet to Meet The Real Drew”

Morton spoke candidly about her dynamic with Drew Sidora, suggesting that the two may not be aligned despite sharing similar creative paths.

“With music I think we have different styles. We’re both talented and there’s room for both of us to really be amazing in this space,” she said. “But sometimes it’s not your person. Some people you’re not mean to be cool with.”

She also reacted to Sidora’s reenactment of a video involving her, adding a pointed remark: “I didn’t know it was a reenactment. She’s just a really great actress. In her real life, even. She’s just always acting and the camera never cuts for her. So, I’ve yet to really get to know the real Drew.”

Shamea Morton Addresses Moment With Phaedra Parks

When it comes to her relationship with Phaedra Parks, Morton struck a more measured tone. She acknowledged a moment teased in the Season 17 trailer and admitted she may have misspoken.

“I really do like Phaedra, so it’s unfortunate that we weren’t able to be as close as I think we could be,” she said. “I did kind of misspeak about something, and I own it.”

A Season 17 unfolds; Morton is making it clear she’s stepping fully into her role on her own terms.
